ROUTES at Euro’Meet 2026: bringing the conversation about Europe’s trails to Sundsvall
How can trails across Europe be designed, managed and used more responsibly?
This is the central question behind ROUTES – Responsible Overall Use of Trails through a Framework for a European Standard, and Euro’Meet offered an important opportunity to bring it into conversation with the wider European outdoor community.
During the conference, ROUTES was presented through:
➡️ A poster presentation introducing the project, its objectives and the ongoing European research. (link for the ROUTES survey: https://lnkd.in/dCbmBMfN)
➡️ A presentation of preliminary insights from the ROUTES survey, gathering perspectives from trail managers, users, federations and other organisations across Europe.
➡️ A joint workshop inviting participants to explore what support trail managers need, the main obstacles faced by outdoor enthusiasts, and how trail policy recommendations can influence action at European, national, regional and local levels.
The discussions connected ROUTES with people working across outdoor sport, trail management, tourism, research and public policy, and brought valuable perspectives into the project’s next stages.
Following Euro’Meet, the ROUTES partners continued to Steninge Kuststation, near Halmstad, for the project’s second partner meeting and exchange.
More about the exchange soon...
