"Lake Como is sometimes referred to as the most exclusive lake in all of Europe. No wonder that it is on its shores that high-profile celebrities such as George Clooney and Brad Pitt have their villas. The most popular villages on the banks of Como are:

Varenna - a small town with intimate shops, colourful townhouses and cobbled streets, whose most important monument is the medieval church of San Giorgio and the castle of Castello di Vezio;

Bellagio - the most interesting lakeside village, where, among other things, "Casino Royal" and the second part of "Star Wars" were filmed;

Nesso - located on a steep mountainside with numerous stairs and cobbled streets;

Menaggio - with a promenade several kilometres long and a historic centre."
