sy because our work is multilateral – we engage with all the countries represented at the UN Agencies, not just one. We work directly with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in the areas of emergency food aid, agricultural development, and food safety standards to promote food security. Other issues we work on include fisheries, forests, and financing for rural development. We also engage with three smaller UN agencies in Rome: The International Development Law Organization (IDLO), ICCROM, an intergovernmental organization dedicated to the conservation of cultural heritage, and the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT). The USUN Mission also promotes the efficient functioning of the UN organizations. As the largest contributor to the UN system worldwide, the United States has a large stake in ensuring that the organizations are well run and that their activities complement and enhance U.S. Favorite Quote:
