On Thursday 17 September, at Studio 33 A Musical Supernova in the heart of Trastevere, Husk Husk will be playing a brand-new live set!

Husk Husk is an electronic music duo working between Ghent, London and Rome, making independent music and sound installations alongside commissioned work for contemporary dance and film. They recently made a site-specific sound installation at Ex Elettrofonica gallery in Rome, and the score for the feature film 'Agnus Dei', that premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

Their live set in Trastevere will revolve around intricate sampling, intense melodic polyrhythms and raw analogue synthesis.

Giovedì 17 settembre, presso lo Studio 33 A Musical Supernova, nel cuore di Trastevere, Husk Husk presenterà un nuovissimo live set !

Husk Husk è un duo di musica elettronica attivo tra Ghent, Londra e Roma. Realizza musica indipendente e installazioni sonore; inoltre, lavora su commissione per la danza contemporanea e il cinema.

Di recente il duo ha creato un’installazione sonora site-specific presso la galleria Ex Elettrofonica di Roma e ha composto la colonna sonora del film Agnus Dei, presentato in anteprima alla Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia.

Il loro live set di Trastevere sarà un viaggio tra sampling intricati, poliritmi melodici intensi e sintesi analogica grezza e materica.

🇺🇦 Today we celebrate the Independence Day of Ukraine

35 years ago, Ukraine restored its independence after centuries of struggle. Today, Ukrainians are once again defending their right to live in a free, independent and sovereign state. Moreover, they are defending us all, and standing up against agression.

Yesterday, our Representation, together with our other Embassy of Belgium in Rome - Permanent Representation to FAO, WFP and IFAD colleagues and representatives from Italy and many embassies marched from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Venezia in support. We are also flying the Ukrainian flag in solidarity.

🇺🇦 Oggi celebriamo il Giorno dell’Indipendenza dell’Ucraina

35 anni fa, l’Ucraina riconquistava la propria indipendenza dopo secoli di lotta. Oggi, il popolo ucraino difende ancora una volta il loro diritto a vivere in uno stato libero, indipendente e sovrano. E, nel farlo, difendono tutti noi, opponendosi all’aggressione.

Ieri, la nostra Rappresentanza, insieme ad altri colleghi dell’Ambasciata del Belgio e ai rappresentanti dell’Italia e di numerose ambasciate, ha marciato da Piazza della Repubblica a Piazza Venezia in segno di solidarietà e sostegno.

Anche noi esponiamo la bandiera ucraina, in segno di solidarietà.

After five days of intensive negotiations and long evenings, we are wrapping up the work of the 30th Session of the Committee on Agriculture at Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations today!
The Committee addressed key issues that concern us all: innovation, the bioeconomy, biodiversity, climate change, the role of women and young people in agriculture, livestock, One Health, the sustainable use of plastics in agriculture, and much more.
Challenges do not stop at borders. Through international cooperation, we contribute to sustainable solutions and remain committed to building a resilient, sustainable, and inclusive food system.

Na vijf dagen intensief onderhandelingen en lange avonden ronden we vandaag het werk af van de 30e zitting van het Comité voor Landbouw van de Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations!
Het Comité behandelt belangrijke thema’s die ons allen aanbelangen: innovatie, bio-economie, biodiversiteit, klimaatverandering, de positie van vrouwen en jongeren in de landbouw, veehouderij, One Health, duurzaam gebruik van plastiek in de landbouw en zoveel meer!
Uitdagingen stoppen niet aan grenzen. We dragen via internationale samenwerking bij aan duurzame oplossingen en blijven ons inzetten voor een veerkrachtig, duurzaam en inclusief voedselsysteem.

Een fijne Vlaamse feestdag!
Op 11 juni vierden we die samen met diplomatiek korps in Rome, vertegenwoordigers van de VN-agentschappen en onze vele Italiaanse partners in het Chiostro Del Bramante, Roma. Dries Willems, Dirk Smolders en Daniele Manetti namen er het woord om terug te blikken op de samenwerking.
Een prachtig moment van uitwisseling dat werd gekleurd door een verrassende performance door Matt McCreary op de noten van Kamil Carlens, speciaal gemaakt voor de gelegenheid door Vandenberghe. Innovatief en eigenzinnig en een bijzondere ervaring in het prachtige Chiostro.
Dank aan iedereen die erbij was.

Happy Flanders Day!
On 11 June, we celebrated together with the diplomatic corps in Rome, representatives of the UN agencies, and our many Italian partners at the Chiostro Del Bramante.
Dries Willems, Dirk Smolders and Daniele Manetti reflected on the strong collaboration between Flanders and Italy.
It was a wonderful moment of exchange, enhanced by a surprising performance by McCreary to the music of Kamil Carlens, specially created for the occasion by Vandenberghe. Innovative, unconventional and a truly unique experience in the beautiful setting of the Chiostro.

L'11 giugno abbiamo celebrato questa ricorrenza insieme al corpo diplomatico a Roma, ai rappresentanti delle agenzie delle Nazioni Unite e ai nostri numerosi partner italiani nello splendido Chiostro del Bramante.

Vlaanderen is absolute wereldtop als fietsregio!🚴🏽‍♀️
Die boodschap bracht minister .deridder deze week ook op de Velo-city Conference in Rimini. Vandaag gebeurt 18,5% van alle verplaatsingen in Vlaanderen met de fiets. Tegen 2040 willen we dat aandeel verhogen naar 30%.
Ook economisch is de fietssector van groot belang: de fietseconomie vertegenwoordigt een marktwaarde van 459 miljoen euro en kent nog een aanzienlijk groeipotentieel.
Die ambities willen we waarmaken via de uitvoering van het recent gelanceerde Masterplan Fiets. Want fietsen zit in ons DNA!

Een speciale dank aan vice-burgemeester .valentina en minister voor de warme ontvangst in Rimini. Ook veel dank aan schepen en zijn team om ons, samen met de delegatie van rond te leiden in deze prachtige stad. Dankzij belangrijke infrastructuurinvesteringen is Rimini uitgegroeid tot een meer leefbare, inclusieve, klimaatbestendige en duurzame stad🍀

Le Fiandre sono un’eccellenza mondiale nel ciclismo!
Questo è stato il messaggio che la ministra .deridder ha portato questa settimana alla Velo-city Conference di Rimini.
Oggi, il 18,5% di tutti gli spostamenti nelle Fiandre avviene in bicicletta. Entro il 2040 vogliamo aumentare questa quota al 30%.
Anche dal punto di vista economico, il settore della bicicletta riveste una grande importanza: l’economia della bicicletta rappresenta un valore di mercato di 459 milioni di euro e presenta ancora un notevole potenziale di crescita.
Vogliamo realizzare queste ambizioni attraverso l’attuazione del recente Piano Strategico per la Bicicletta. Perché la bicicletta fa parte del nostro DNA!

Trust and courage where the central themes at today’s General Assembly of Confindustria, the General Confederation of Italian Industry.

Attended by President of the Italian Republic H.E. Sergio Matarella, and with interventions by Confindustria-president Emanuele Orsini and President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, the Assembly took stock of the challenges of the Italian and European industry and discussed the way forward.

Tutte le strade portano a Rimini ! 🚴‍♀️

🪧Ma non la Via Appia a Roma Capitale, dove il team della nostra ambasciata ha messo alla prova le proprie abilità ciclistiche in vista del summit mondiale della ciclabilità Velo-city conference, che si terrà a Comune di Rimini dal 16 al 19 giugno.

🚲Nel 2024, invece, questo summit si è svolto nella città fiamminga di Stad Gent. Non sorprende: Gand è una delle città più bike-friendly al mondo, classificata al 3° posto nel Copenhagenize Index.

💛Nelle Fiandre, quasi il 20% di tutti gli spostamenti avviene in bicicletta. Questo la rende la seconda regione ciclistica dell’UE. E la nostra ambizione è raggiungere il 30% entro il 2040.

🖼️La bicicletta fa parte della cultura fiamminga ed è davvero alla portata di tutti : un mezzo di trasporto quotidiano, uno sport amatissimo, ma anche un modo unico per scoprire cultura, patrimonio e gastronomia della regione. La rete ciclabile, sviluppata sia per gli spostamenti funzionali sia per il tempo libero, rende tutto facile e divertente.

All roads lead to Rimini! 🚴‍♀️

🪧But not the Via Appia in Rome, where our embassy team tested its biking skills for the global cycling summit Velo-city from 16-19 June.

🚲Rimini is the host city this year. The Flemish city Ghent hosted the conference in 2024. Not surprising, as Ghent is one of the world's most bicycle-friendly cities, ranking 3rd globally in the Copenhagenize index.

💛In Flanders, almost 20% of all trips are done by bike. That makes it the second leading cycling region in the EU. And our ambition is to reach 30% by 2040.

🖼️ Cycling is part of Flemish culture and is for everyone. It is a daily means of transport, a very popular sport but also a way to discover the region’s culture, heritage and gastronomy. The well developed functional and recreational cycling network makes it easy, and fun.

💪Excited to share our experience with our Italian and other Italian partners. Saddle up!

Last Wednesday Minister of Culture of Flanders Caroline Gennez inaugurated the Belgian Pavillion at the 61st Venice Biennale. The performance ‘IT NEVER SST’ by Miet Warlop, curated by Caroline Dumalin, reveived high praise and is quoted among the top pavillions by many critics and visitors.

Minister Caroline Gennez took the opportunity to highlight our support for Ukraine, present in this Biennale with a Pavillion and the famous Origami Deer. She met with Ukrainian Minister of Culture Tetyana Berezhna, discussed Flemish-Ukrainian cultural cooperation and co-signed the joint statement with many other Ministers of Culture in support of Ukraine and strongly condemning Russia’s war of aggression.

Furthermore, the Minister and delegation received many dignitaries at the Belgian Pavillion and took the opportunity to visit other countries’ Pavillions. We also engaged with the many other Flemish artists present at the Biennale, in the central exhibition and throughout Venice.

It was an intense programme, but we were grateful for the opportunity to support our extraordinary Flemish artists at this prestigious global platform, and to highlight the values that we hold dear.
