Si è concluso il primo anno del progetto di ricerca AFORDID 2 (Dynamic Learning Environment for Home-Based Education) con il primo trial in Italia di AV1, un robot di telepresenza sviluppato da ,

Grazie a un processo di co-progettazione che ha coinvolto insegnanti, ricercatori e famiglie, un'alunna della scuola primaria dell'Istituto Comprensivo Teglia in Liguria ha potuto frequentare la scuola da casa. È rimasta in contatto con i suoi compagni di classe attraverso il robot , posizionato in classe al suo banco.
Questo trial rappresenta un primo passo importante nell'esplorare come applicare al meglio questa combinazione di tecnologia e didattica personalizzata, con l'obiettivo di potenziare pratiche di insegnamento e apprendimento inclusive e sostenibili.
Un ringraziamento speciale va all'Ufficio Scolastico Regionale della Liguria, all'Istituto Comprensivo Teglia e a tutti gli insegnanti, gli alunni e le famiglie che hanno reso possibile questa prima esperienza! 🙏

🤖 Italy's first trial of the AV1 telepresence robot for home-based education. Want to join in the next one?

The opening year of the AFORDID 2 research project (Dynamic Learning Environment for Home-Based Education) has concluded with the first trial in Italy of AV1, a telepresence robot developed by Isolation Isolation

Thanks to a co-design process involving teachers, researchers and families, a primary school pupil from the Teglia Comprehensive School in Liguria was able to attend school from home. She stayed connected with her classmates through the AV1 robot, which sat in the classroom at her desk.
This trial represents an important first step in investigating how best to apply this combination of technology and personalised education, with a view to enhancing inclusive and sustainable teaching and learning practices.
A special thanks goes out to the Ligurian Regional School Authority, Teglia Comprehensive School, and all the teachers, pupils and families who made this first experience possible! 🙏

New article: Bottom-up civic diplomacy in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: digital storytelling by non-state actors.

How can social media help foster dialogue about one of the world's most complex and polarised conflicts?

In a new article published in *Israel Affairs*, Italian researchers Stefania Manca (CNR – Institute for Educational Technology) and Torre (Bari University) examine 106 Instagram and TikTok videos produced in the *Builders of the Middle East* initiative to explore how non-state actors use digital storytelling to promote bottom-up civic diplomacy, recognition, and non-violent internal critique.

The study introduces the concept of **peacebuilding influencers**, highlighting how digital creators can help sustain spaces for dialogue and mediation, even on highly polarised topics.

More time available to share your insights into automated assessment issues! As artificial intelligence and large language models become increasingly integrated into higher education assessment, ensuring fairness, transparency, validity, and accountability is more important than ever. So we’re pleased to announce that you now have until 18 September 2026 to submit your high-quality contribution to the international Research Topic "Fairness, Transparency, and Validity in Automated Assessment: Evidence, Frameworks, and Implications for Higher Education", to be published in Frontier-ducation .

The publication will examine the opportunities and challenges of AI-supported assessment, and showcase evidence-based, ethical, and human-centered approaches to educational evaluation. Specifically, we welcome submissions addressing topics like automated assessment, AI-assisted feedback, validity and reliability, accessibility, institutional governance, benchmarking frameworks, and the implications of emerging policies, including the EU AI Act.

The Research Topic is coordinated by an international editorial team comprising Topic Editors Flavio Manganello (CNR-ITD), Martin Ebner (Graz University of Technology), Marta López, PhD (Open University of Catalonia), and Alexandra Lazareva (University of Agder), together with Topic Coordinator Giannangelo Boccuzzi (CNR-ITD).

Day by day, myriad uses of artificial intelligence continue to raise increasingly sticky issues and intense debates in a range of spheres, including research. In an effort to inform current narratives with rigorous research analysis, Francesca Maria Dagnino , Chiara Fante, and Marcello Passarelli from CNR’s Institute for Educational Technology (CNR-ITD), in collaboration with Vittorio Guerrieri from the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), have just published a scoping review on the topic in the journal Frontiers in Psychology.
Entitled "Addicted, attached, or just delegating? A scoping review on problematic artificial intelligence use", the study draws on hard evidence from 37 empirical research studies to examine how problematic AI use is being conceptualized, measured, and investigated. The authors uncover the fragmented nature of current research, identifying three main conceptual perspectives. In response, they call for clearer theoretical frameworks and AI-specific assessment tools, together with more longitudinal and experimental research to help us better understand the mechanisms behind emerging AI problematisation.

A new article by and - "Neuroscience Meets the Classroom: A Scoping Review of Translational Research in Educational Neuroscience (2015–2025)" - has been published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology as part of a special issue on educational neuroscience. https://lnkd.in/dqZ_hrRZ

The study reviews a decade of research into how findings in the field of educational neuroscience have been translated into classroom practice. It sheds light on approaches, challenges, and key factors that foster effective dialogue between research and school. The review gives a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art, and provides a solid framework for guiding future research. It also highlights the crucial role of knowledge translation in making scientific evidence truly accessible and applicable in educational settings.

I’11 giugno si è svolta a Genova la 15ª edizione di Expandere Liguria, l'evento di networking promosso da Cdo Liguria | Compagnia delle Opere Liguria che ha riunito oltre 200 imprenditori, professionisti e rappresentanti del terzo settore attorno al tema "Costruire il Nuovo".

In quell'ambito, il progetto EASE VR aveva ricevuto il Premio Partner conferito da Compagnia delle Opere.
