Civil Affairs Soldiers conducted a military-to-military subject-matter expert exchange with representatives of the Libyan National Army and the Government of National Unity in Benghazi, Libya last month - marking the first time a element has conducted an exchange with forces in Libya.

U.S. Army Maj. Miles Dunning, team lead for CA Team Libya and Bravo Company commander said this is the first of a planned series of “M2M” exchanges with the two forces.

Dunning emphasized that it represented a pivotal step in building relationships between the military forces of the U.S., LNA and GNU.

“People have put in hundreds of man-hours to make this happen and my team was very lucky to be tasked with this mission. It is the first time a conventional U.S. Army element from any organization has been to Libya in 16 years, so it was a big deal and a big first step in reestablishing a military relationship with Libya," said Dunning.

When is a football game not just a game?

During the Remembrance Bowl, from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the 82nd Airborne Division came together to honor the courage, sacrifice and unwavering spirit of the paratroopers who stormed into history on D-Day in 1944.

As the national anthem echoed across Normandy and a parachutist delivered the game ball from above, today's warriors paid tribute to those who answered the call generations before them. Their legacy is more than history — it's a standard of service, courage and commitment that continues to inspire.
