This year’s Jersey Opinions and Lifestyle Survey (JOLS) has been launched by Statistics Jersey who run the survey each year to understand the experiences and views of islanders.

This information helps the government to plan and deliver public services.

The survey covers important topics that affect us all such as the cost of living, wellbeing, education and health.

Over the next few days, 4,000 randomly selected households will receive an invitation to take part in the survey.

If you receive one, please complete the survey by Friday 26 June.

Islanders who have had experience of the Family Courts in Jersey where allegations of domestic abuse or violence were involved are being invited to take part in confidential interviews with an independent reviewer later this month.

Hannah Markham KC has been commissioned to undertake this work as part of Jersey’s ongoing efforts to implement the recommendations of the Taskforce on Violence Against Women and Girls.

One of the key recommendations is an independent review of the family justice system, focusing on how it responds to cases where allegations of domestic abuse or violence are made.

Individuals who come forward will be invited to attend a private, face-to-face interview in a confidential and appropriate non-Government setting. All information shared will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Anyone who would like to take part in an interview can find out more here: https://bit.ly/4vGl5lq

As technology becomes more sophisticated, so do the online scams. Deepfake videos, fake profiles and fraudulent messages are increasingly used to trick people into sharing personal or financial information.

The Government of Jersey will never ask you for bank details, payments or personal information via social media. If you receive a message that feels suspicious, don’t respond, don’t click, and don’t share your information.

Find out more:
• Check the official Government of Jersey website gov.je/BeSafeOnline
• Follow Jersey Cyber Security Centre for more advice and guidance.

Report suspicious posts or adverts to the social media platform - this makes it more likely that they'll be taken down, which could save other people from becoming victims.

If you are the victim of a scam:
• Contact your bank to block any fraudulent payments
• Report it to States of Jersey Police on 612612 or via: report.jersey.police.uk
