As we give a helping hand by volunteering our time to our worthy causes, remember to always ensure that your data is protected from prying eyes. Labour Day should be a day of building communities, and you can do your part by protecting your data and the data of those around you.

OIC Tips:
Before sharing your ID or contact details at a volunteer event, ask how your information will be stored and who has access.

If you are managing a sign-in table, keep clipboards and registration sheets face-down and out of public view.

Before posting Labour Day photos, check the background. Make sure no registration lists, ID badges, or open screens are visible in the shot.

Have a safe and productive Labour Day.

OIC Tip: Delele accounts and apps you no longer use. These ghost accounts are goldmines for hackers if the service suffers a data breach.

Today is World Password Day—the perfect time to audit your digital entry points. A truly secure password isn't just a random word; it’s a strategic defense designed to defy computer prediction.

OIC Tips:
Tip 1: Use passphrases. Four or more random words chained together are harder to crack than symbols alone.

Tip 2: Every account should get its own unique password. Use a dedicated Password Manager, not browser storage.

Tip 3: Activate MFA. A stolen password is useless without your physical device.
