Dear followers,

The House of Representatives on Tuesday November 19, passed the Human Employment and Resource Training (Amendment) Act, 2019, with 23 amendments.

On Friday, the 6th of December 2019, the ‘Human Employment and Resource Training (Amendment and Change of Name) Act, 2019’ was passed in the Senate of Jamaica with 17 amendments, giving legal effect to the merger to create one entity, now to be officially named the Human Employment and Resource Training/National Service Training Agency (HEART/NSTA) Trust.

This is with the specific aim of tackling the unattached youth, to get them trained, to get them into the labour force in a way that they can have a skill they can earn from meaningfully and that the industry and economy can benefit from.

As a result, all the NYS Social media pages’ will from this point forward, become inactive. Persons seeking to assess information regarding programmes normally offered by NYS can do so by following the HEART Trust /NTA social media pages.
