As we recognize International Reggae Day and its 2025 theme “One Love, One Voice, One Day,” NHSJ also reflects on the powerful legacy of Jamaican music. 🇯🇲🎶

Members recently visited the Curating Music: Building a National Collection exhibit at the Institute of Jamaica, which showcases over 400 years of musical history, from folk traditions to ska, rocksteady, and reggae. More than entertainment, reggae is a voice of the people, shaped by resistance, resilience, and identity💛💚❤️

Recap of June 29th when our NHSJ members visited the “Guardians of the Night” exhibit at the Institute of Jamaica to celebrate Jamaica’s remarkable bat biodiversity🦇💚 By exploring interactive displays and learning about the conservation challenges these mammals face, our community can better appreciate and safeguard these incredible species. Thank you to everyone who could join us in celebrating Jamaica’s winged night guardians🌙🦇💚
