On May 12, 2026, the Government of Jamaica signed a landmark US$9 million agreement with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), marking the formal launch of the Land Administration Capacity Enhancement Project (LACEP), a major milestone in Jamaica’s modernization journey.
Valued at approximately JM$1.4 billion, the project is being implemented in collaboration with the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX) and the University of Seoul. Through this partnership, the Land Administration Innovation Centre (LAIC) will be established at 84 Harbour Street, Kingston, providing structured training and technical development opportunities for policymakers, managers and operational officers across Jamaica’s public sector.
This transformative initiative represents a significant investment in capacity building, innovation and the modernization of land administration systems, further strengthening the public sector’s ability to deliver efficient and sustainable services to the people of Jamaica.
