A Father's Heart
From the moment you took your very first breath
My life was changed forever,
From that day on, my name became Father,
More than a title; but a duty to treasure
With each beat of your heart, my heart beats for you,
My desire to be, to be all you need.
I look and I see my image revealed in you,
More than just looks; you are my progeny
Everyday now I can see, the future for you
God's plans for you made; to show His glory.
And now with each breath, I work to help you grow
To ensure you achieve your God-given identity.
I have been blessed with the gift and opportunity,
To mould and SHAPE your life
I have been given the awesome responsibility,
To train your mind to think and navigate this life.
I give you your SHAPE; S the standards be which you should live
H the habit you adopt and daily disciplines.
A for your Attitude; your passion, drive and will,
P for the Principles that guide you to win.
Finally E is your Expectation and what you believe you deserve
Whether praise, accolades or simply the truth.
This is my heart and desire for you my child,
A life on purpose; the glory Christ through the roof!
I say thank you my child, for the honour and weight you give me today
For acknowledging me your Father through your words and praise
Like the foundation of and house and the root of a tree,
I will be your rock and source; as we God's Glory Raise
Collectively we all say Happy Fathers' Day
To all Fathers here on Earth
Together we all declare Happy Father's Day
To the King, our Father; we honour His worth!
