This is critical for global competitiveness of Jamaican exports and institutional strengthening of of the national quality infrastructure.

The National Certification Body of Jamaica (NCBJ) is an agency of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce that provides affordable Management Systems Certification services within Jamaica & the wider Caribbean. NCBJ the pioneer certification body of the Caribbean was established in April 2007 and was accredited by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to offer certification to ISO 90

01 on 17 November 2009. NCBJ presently offers certification of management systems to a number of private and public sector organizations, thereby providing verification by a competent authority that the certified organization has met the requirements of ISO 9001. Certification of public sector organizations to these management systems has improved the quality of public service and continue to revolutionize and transform the public sector. Similarly, certification of management systems throughout private sector entities will definitely raise the standard of quality of goods and services produced across the country.
