European Union in Jamaica

European Union in Jamaica Official page of the Delegation of the European Union to Jamaica. The Head of the EU Delegation to Jamaica is Ambassador Paola Amadei.

Jamaica, as a member of the Caricom Community plays a vital role in policy discussion between Caricom and the EU as well as in coordinating the benefits of resources made available under the EU strategy for the Caribbean. Jamaica is also one of the countries that participate in the EU-Latin America (LAC) summits bi-annually in an effort to better coordinate action in political, social and economic

spheres. EU Jamaica carries out activities under The Cotonou Agreement which is the most comprehensive partnership agreement between developing countries and the EU. Since 2000, it has been the framework for the EU's relations with 79 countries from Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP). EU Jamaica also bears the responsibility of carrying out EU policies and building and maintaining existing partnerships that promote growth, stability and development. With its partners, EU Jamaica works in tandem to develop and carry out various projects that can only serve to benefit our country, and offer support to the ongoing process of regional integration within the Caricom Community. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the Kremlin to finance the war against Ukraine. Staying the course delivers results. Sanctions work.

Participation in political and public life is an important part of this, as is the respect for non-discrimination, including for LGBTI persons.
Online and offline violence can infringe on the realisation of rights.

Russia has been portraying the EU and Ukraine’s leadership as “warmongers” unwilling to end the war. This is, of course, an outright lie.
In reality, it is the Kremlin that has rejected at least seven peace proposals in 2025 alone.
