It is with deep sadness that the Management and Staff of the Bustamante Hospital for Children mourn the passing of Ms. Davia Tucker, former Nurse Manager.

Ms. Tucker served the institution with dedication, professionalism, and compassion from 2008 to 2023, leaving a lasting impact on patients, colleagues, and the nursing profession.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, former colleagues, and loved ones during this difficult time.

High blood pressure, also called hypertension, often has no warning signs but can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke and other serious health problems.

A simple blood pressure check can help save lives; but getting an accurate reading is important.

✔️ Sit with your back supported
✔️ Keep your feet flat on the floor
✔️ Rest your arm at heart level
✔️ Relax for 5 minutes before your reading
✔️ Avoid talking during the test
✔️ Avoid smoking, exercise, tea or coffee 30 minutes before checking

Donating blood is easier than you think 🩸

You may be eligible to donate blood if you:
✅ Are 17–60 years old and weigh over 110 lbs
✅ Have high blood pressure that is under control
✅ Have diabetes that is controlled without insulin
✅ Had a tattoo or piercing done more than 6 months ago

Check your eligibility and donate blood at Spanish Town Hospital's Blood Collection Centre on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
