: Since the release of the Ministry’s public service announcement on Monday, May 25, the Ministry can confirm that eight (8) passengers from several flights into the country had a travel history associated with the affected countries. These individuals have received counselling from the airport health desk, placed under mandatory self-quarantine and are being monitored by the respective health departments. Importantly, all eight passengers have not manifested any symptoms associated with Ebola, therefore transmission is not likely, and therefore there is no risk as it relates to the other passengers on these flights.

Senior Clinical Psychologist Georgia Rose provides valuable context on the importance of supporting the mental health professionals who serve across the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

This initiative creates an opportunity to invest in the wellbeing of the dedicated healthcare workers who tirelessly support others every day. While the session was hosted by the Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA), it reflects a broader commitment to ensuring that mental health professionals throughout the public health system receive the care, support, and encouragement they need to continue serving the people of Jamaica.
