At the Tourism Enhancement Fund, we remain committed to strengthening communities through strategic infrastructure that supports long-term tourism growth and national development.

Last Friday, we proudly marked the official ribbon-cutting for the Fontabelle to Geddes Town Road Rehabilitation Project in St. Mary.

The Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism whose vision continues to position tourism as a powerful driver of inclusive growth, and resilence alongside Hon. Robert Montague, Minister without Portfolio and Member of parliment for St. Mary Western gave very insightful remarks.

This is more than just roadwork, it's paving the way to progress, community upliftment, and sustainable tourism growth.

Here at the Tourism Enhancement Fund, we do our best every day to improve the lives of our greatest resource: the workers who interact daily with our visitors, and our tourists who afford us the opportunity to have a thriving tourism sector.

That’s why this Labour Day we supported them. Through this labour of love, we helped rebuild four homes across rural Jamaica, bringing hope, comfort, and renewed dignity to the families we serve.

When Hurricane Melissa impacted communities across Jamaica, many tourism workers were left facing significant damage to their homes and livelihoods. Through the Tourism Housing Assistance and Recovery Programme (THARP), the Tourism Enhancement Fund continues to provide meaningful support to help affected workers recover and rebuild.

This initiative delivers structured housing assistance packages tailored to assessed levels of damage, providing approved beneficiaries with access to critical building materials and recovery support including roofing supplies, lumber, cement and repair assistance.

THARP represents more than recovery assistance. It is a commitment to the people who continue to power Jamaica’s tourism industry every day. 💙🇯🇲

Our people remain at the heart of everything we do. Through the Tourism Housing Assistance and Recovery Programme (THARP), the Tourism Enhancement Fund continues to support tourism workers as they recover and rebuild following Hurricane Melissa.

To date, over 600 tourism workers have collected housing assistance packages valued at $100,000 each to help restore damaged homes, reinforcing our commitment to the wellbeing and resilience of Jamaica’s tourism workforce.
