The National Tourism Debate The National Tourism debate attracts participation of as many as 32 schools vying for the title of National Debating Champions.

It provides an opportunity through sponsorship, for social intervention by the business community. 1LuvTV Productions, located in Montego Bay is offering a variety of sponsorship packages to help Jamaica's students to develop debating skills. These skills boost confidence and produce more articulate individuals. The 1uv National Tourism Debate was created several years ago and has proved to be an

effective educational initiative. It embraces schools across Jamaica and provides an opportunity through sponsorship, for social intervention by the business community. The debate attracts participation of as many as 32 schools vying for the title of National Debating Champions.

Friday gave us the absolute best match of the preliminaries so far, and everyone, the audience, the coaches, and the judges—agreed it was a masterclass in debating!
On June 12th, DeCarteret College and Glenmuir High School went head-to-head on a massive, real-world topic that hit close to home:
📊 The Motion: “This house believes that rebuilding local communities and protecting tourism workers should take priority over expanding tourism infrastructure after Hurricane Melissa.”

Both teams brought fire, sharp logic, and incredible passion to the floor, making it a nail-biter until the very end. But when the final scores were tallied, DeCarteret College took the victory with a staggering 1,093 points over Glenmuir’s impressive 888 points! 💥
Huge congratulations to DeCarteret College on a phenomenal win, and massive respect to Glenmuir High School for pushing the competition to such heights. This is what top-tier debating looks like! 🇯🇲🎤
