#トチノキ Japanese Horse chestnut (Aesculus turbinata ) Walking through the park I found a big Japanese horse chestnut I was happy until I realized it was a トチノキTochinoki which are usually toxic if eaten raw But in Japanese they do make a sweet traditional confectionary called Tochimochi that takes a long leaching process to remove all the bitterness -even more difficult that leeching acorns!
