⚾️ 今週、成田で開催される「世界少年野球大会（World Children's Baseball Fair）」でオーストラリア代表として参加するムーラビン・ベースボールクラブの皆さん、頑張ってください！ 🇦🇺🇯🇵

開会式では、世界各国から集まった子どもたちが野球への共通の情熱を通じて交流し、その熱意と期待に満ちた様子を見ることができ素晴らしかったです。
世界少年野球大会は、友情、チームワーク、そして国際交流を祝う大会です。

10月に開催される #日豪経済会議（Australia-Japan Joint Business Conference）の開催地として、千葉県が日豪関係の中心的な舞台となります。同会議は豪州にとって最も重要な年次ビジネスイベントです。この重要なイベントを前に、シーラー次期大使は、千葉県産の新鮮な食材とオーストラリア産のプレミアム牛肉、ワインを楽しみながら、熊谷俊人千葉県知事を招いて昼食会を主催しました。

千葉県は、成田空港を通じて日本を代表する国際的な玄関口の一つとして重要な役割を担うとともに、産業、物流、農業、そしてイノベーションの重要拠点でもあります。昼食会では、航空ネットワーク、観光、双方向の貿易・投資、そして10月の日豪経済会議の成功に向けて、オーストラリア大使館が千葉県とどのように連携できるかについて意見が交わされました。

シーラー次期大使は、充実した意見交換の機会と力強いパートナーシップに対し、熊谷知事ならびに千葉県庁の皆さまへ感謝の意を表しました。

Chiba will take centre stage in the Australia-Japan relationship this October as host of the Australia-Japan Joint Business Conference, our most important annual business gathering. Ambassador-Designate Shearer was pleased to host Governor Kumagai Toshihito for a lunch featuring fresh produce from Chiba and premium Aussie beef and wine.

Chiba plays a vital role as one of Japan’s key international gateways through Narita Airport and is an important centre for industry, logistics, agriculture and innovation. They discussed aviation links, tourism, two-way trade and investment, and how the Embassy can work with Chiba to support a successful Joint Business Conference in October.

Thank you to Governor Kumagai and the Chiba Prefectural Government for a great conversation and for our strong partnership.

航空自衛隊のF-35AライトニングIIは、演習「ピッチブラック」への参加のため、ダーウィンまで約7時間の長距離飛行を実施しました。その間、6回の空中給油を受けています。

また、現地メディアのMix 104.9、Hot100 Darwin、ABC Darwinのインタビューでは、長距離飛行の様子やオーストラリアでの飛行経験について紹介しました。 航空自衛隊は今回、E-2Dホークアイとともに、F-35AライトニングIIを初めて演習「ピッチブラック」に派遣しています。

今週初め、ティム・エアーズ産業・イノベーション・科学大臣は、小野田紀美経済安全保障大臣と量子科学技術分野の協力に関する新たな協力覚書（MoC）に署名しました。

この覚書は、協力、投資、研究、そして商業化の機会を拡大することで、オーストラリアと日本の量子分野のエコシステム間の連携を強化するものです。

また両国間の友好協力基本条約に基づく協力関係が50周年を迎える中、この覚書は両国共通の利益を基盤としており、今後の50年を形作る新たな機会に向けて、両国が協力して取り組むための礎となるものです。

Earlier this week Tim Ayres, Minister for Science, Industry and Innovation signed a new Memorandum of Cooperation on quantum science, technology, and innovation with Kimi Onoda, Japan's Minister in charge of Economic Security.

This Memorandum will strengthen links between Australia and Japan’s quantum ecosystems by increasing opportunities for collaboration, investment, research, and commercialisation.

As we mark 50 years of cooperation under our bilateral Friendship Treaty, this Memorandum builds on our shared interests and positions both countries to work together on the opportunities that will shape the next 50 years.

There has been a magnitude 7.1 earthquake in the Kumamoto region. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) is monitoring closely.

According to the JMA, if another large-scale earthquake occurs, strong shaking and a large tsunami may be expected.
