Հուլիսի 14-15-ը Կենսաբազմազանության կոնվենցիայի կողմերի համաժողովի ( ) ՀՀ նախագահության հատուկ բանագնաց, դեսպան Մհեր Մարգարյանը և Ճապոնիայում Հայաստանի դեսպան Մոնիկա Սիմոնյանը մասնակցել են Կումամոտոյում կայացած Բնապահպանական գլոբալ գագաթնաժողովին:
Գագաթնաժողովի բացմանը տեսաուղերձով հանդես է եկել Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Շրջակա միջավայրի նախարար Համբարձում Մաթևոսյանը` ներկայացնելով Երևանում նախատեսվող ՄԱԿ Կենսաբազմազանության կոնվենցիայի կողմերի համաժողովի նախագահության առաջնահերթությունները, կարևորելով համաժողովի ներառական բնույթը, մասնավոր հատվածի, ֆինանսական կառույցների, գիտական շրջանակների, քաղաքացիական հասարակության, ինչպես նաև բնիկ ժողովուրդների և տեղական համայնքների ակտիվ ներգրավվածությունը։
Դեսպան Մարգարյանը մասնակցել է միջոցառման տեղական և քաղաքային իշխանությունների ներգրավման վերաբերյալ պանելային քննարկմանը, ինչպես նաև ելույթ ունեցել եզրափակիչ նստաշրջանում՝ ներկայացնելով COP 17-ի նախապատրաստական աշխատանքները, առաջին գլոբալ վերանայման նշանակությունը և համաժողովի ներառական օրակարգը։
Միջոցառման օրերին Հայաստանի պատվիրակությունը հանդիպումներ է ունեցել Ճապոնիայի շրջակա միջավայրի նախարարի՝ Գլոբալ բնապահպանական հարցերով տեղակալ Կենտարո Դոյի, Բնության պահպանության միջազգային միության գլխավոր տնօրեն Գրեթել Ագիլարի, Կումամոտոյի նահանգապետ Տակաշի Կիմուրայի հետ, ինչպես նաև զրույցներ, քննարկումներ անցկացրել գագաթնաժողովին ներկա մասնավոր հատվածի, ակադեմիական շրջանակների և հասարակական կազմակերպությունների ներկայացուցիչների հետ Երևանում կայանալիք COP 17 համաժողովի շրջանակում հնարավոր համագործակցության և մի շարք ոլորտների շահառուների ներգրավվածության վերաբերյալ։
On July 14-15, the Special Envoy of the Presidency of the Convention on Biological Diversity, Ambassador Mher Margaryan and the Ambassador of Armenia to Japan, Monika Simonyan participated in the Global Nature Positive Summit in Kumamoto, Japan.
At the opening of the Summit, the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, Hambardzum Matevosyan, delivered a video message, presenting the priorities of the presidency of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity to be held in Yerevan, emphasizing the importance of the inclusive nature of the Conference and the active involvement of the private sector, financial institutions, scientific circles, civil society, as well as indigenous peoples and local communities.
Ambassador Margaryan participated in a panel discussion on the involvement of local and urban authorities, as well as delivered a speech at the final session, presenting the preparations for COP 17, the significance of the first global review and the inclusive agenda of the Conference.
During the Summit, the Armenian delegation met with Mr. Doi Kentaro, Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs, Ministry of the Environment of Japan, Dr. Grethel Aguilar, Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, Mr. Kimura Takashi, Governor of Kumamoto Prefecture, as well as held talks and discussions with representatives of the private sector, academia and non-governmental organizations, attending the Summit, on potential cooperation and engagement of relevant stakeholder within the framework of the COP 17 Conference to be held in Yerevan.
