“40 Years of Faith” is not just a fun way to shorten “40 Years of Faith Baptist Church” - we also like to think of those who came before us, following God’s will - by faith - to a tiny, rural community in Northern Japan.

But it’s more than that. A more accurate theme would be “40 Years of God’s Faithfulness.” Did you know that not one single person currently attending FBC was here 40 years ago? That’s just the nature of churches in military communities. Additionally, the Misawa Air Base community has decreased in number many times since then. Military downsizing, the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, COVID-19, and much more - our community - both on and off base - has been through the wringer, losing more and more people.

But God has been faithful! His Word is still true, and His Gospel still reaches the farthest regions of the world, Jesus still saves, and He still turns eyes from darkness to light. And Faith Baptist Church will obey His Great Commission for as long as the Lord allows us!

Please pray as we celebrate 40 years of God’s faithfulness in 2 days - that He would receive all the glory and that we would continue in faith!

It is a joy to serve the Lord and a blessing to see His Word being preached faithfully around the world and here in the U.S. We return to Japan tomorrow. Please pray for souls to be saved as we continue our work there. 🇺🇸 🇯🇵

I appreciate these men, trained here at West Coast Baptist College and now planting churches around the world.

The shelter-in-place order at the base in northern Japan which will last until 1 a.m. Thursday, was given in order to clean facilities that the infected individuals visited.
