展示のお知らせ〜Announce〜
山と海に抱かれた富山を舞台に、異なる土地や背景をもつ作家たちがガラスを共通言語として出会います。
本展のきっかけは、ひとつの出会いから始まりました。アメリカ人ガラス作家Annie O’Brienが、クリーブランド・インスティテュート・オブ・アートの仲間たちとともに富山を訪れ、富山ガラス造形研究所での交流を通じて本展の構想が生まれました。その後、同研究所で活動するYuanyang “Molly” Liuとともに企画を重ね、Center for Craft（米国）による2025年度Windgate-Lamar Fellowshipの支援を受け、本展が実現しました。
北陸を拠点に活動する作家を中心に、日本とアメリカで活動する10名の作家が参加します。パート・ド・ヴェール、キルンキャスト、吹きガラス、ホットスカルプティング、コールドワークなど、多彩な技法によるガラス表現が展開されます。
8月29日（土）には、参加作家によるアーティストトークを開催します。作家とともに展示会場を巡りながら、それぞれの作品や制作に込めた思いについて直接お話を伺います。

Set in Toyama, where mountains meet the sea, this exhibition brings together artists from different places and backgrounds, united by glass as a shared language.
The exhibition grew out of an exchange. Last year, American glass artist Annie O’Brien visited Toyama with colleagues from the Cleveland Institute of Art. The connections formed through the glass community at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art became the starting point for this project. Through ongoing collaboration with Yuanyang “Molly” Liu, the exhibition took �shape with the support of the 2025 Windgate-Lamar Fellowship from the Center for Craft (USA).
Bringing together ten artists working across Japan and the United States, the exhibition presents works spanning a wide range of glass practices, including pâte de verre, kiln casting, glassblowing, hot glass sculpture, and coldworking. Like the journey from mountains to sea, the exhibition creates a space where diverse artistic voices and cultural backgrounds converge through glass.
On Saturday, August 29, the participating artists will lead an artist talk through the exhibition space, introducing their works and sharing the ideas behind their practices.
