ラトビアは、EU・NATOの東部国境を守る最前線に立っています。🇱🇻🇪🇺

ベラルーシとの国境では、ベラルーシ政権による不法移民の「道具化」が続いています。

これは、単なる移民問題ではありません。国境に圧力をかけるために、移民の流入が意図的に生み出されたり、助長されたりしているほか、悪意ある勢力や組織犯罪ネットワーク、移民の密入国・密航などの活動とも結びついています。これらが複合的なハイブリッド脅威を構成しています。

ラトビア外務省は、ラトビア・ベラルーシ国境における最新の安全保障状況と、ラトビア東部国境地域で実施されている安全保障作戦「VILKATIS」について、リガに駐在する同盟国および外交団に説明しました。

現代のハイブリッド戦では、軍事力だけが武器ではありません。移民、組織犯罪、偽情報、サイバー攻撃など、社会や国境に圧力をかけるためのさまざまな手段も利用され得ます。

ラトビアの国境を守ることは、EU・NATOの外部国境を守り、ひいては欧州全体の安全保障を守ることでもあります。

🇱🇻 Latvia stands with 🇯🇵 Japan in its concern over recent developments concerning Etorofu Island and intensified Russian military activity in the region.

Actions that heighten tensions undermine regional security and stability. International law and the peaceful resolution of disputes must be respected.

Developments in Euroatlantic, the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific theatres remind us that our security is increasingly interconnected.

2020年8月9日、ベラルーシの人々は、不正な大統領選挙に抗議して立ち上がりました。彼らは民主主義と自由を求めましたが、待ち受けていたのは、残酷な弾圧と基本的人権の組織的な侵害でした。

6年後の今も、ルカシェンコ政権は弾圧政策を続けています。これには、亡命したベラルーシ人を標的とする越境弾圧も含まれます。政治犯の数は増え続け、ますます多くの人々が恣意的に「過激派」に指定されています。さらにベラルーシは、移民の道具化を通じてEU近隣諸国に対するハイブリッド攻撃を続けており、ロシアによるウクライナ侵略戦争にも加担し続けています。

私たちは、こうした非人道的な行為を強く非難し、ベラルーシに対して直ちにやめるよう求めます。ラトビアは、自由で民主的かつ主権を有するベラルーシを求める人とともにあります。

On August 9, 2020, the people of Belarus rose in protest against a fraudulent presidential election. They stood up for democracy and freedom, only to face brutal repression and systematic violations of their fundamental rights.

Six years later, the Lukashenka regime continues its repressive policies, including transnational repression targeting Belarusians in exile. The number of political prisoners continues to grow, while ever more people are arbitrarily designated as extremists. Belarus also continues its hybrid campaign against neighbouring EU states through the instrumentalization of migration and remains complicit in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.

We strongly condemn these inhumane actions and call on Belarus to cease them immediately. Latvia stands with the people of Belarus in their pursuit of a free, democratic, and sovereign Belarus.

🇱🇻🎶 日本で響くラトビアの音楽 — Mirdzums 🇯🇵✨「ラトビア音楽の夕べ vol.3」では、ラトビアの民謡から、ペーテリス・ヴァスクス、エーリクス・エシェンヴァルズ、ウギス・プラウリンシュ、アンドリス・ゼニーティス、ライモンズ・パウルスなど、ラトビアを代表する作曲家の作品まで、多彩な音楽が披露されました。

クルムホルツ次期駐日大使にとっても、日本で暮らすラトビアの皆さん、そして遠く離れた日本でラトビア文化を愛し、支えてくださる日本の友人の皆さんと初めてお会いする、素晴らしい機会となりました。

素晴らしい演奏を届けてくださった出演者・指揮者の皆さまに、心より感謝申し上げます。その才能だけでなく、心も聴衆に届け、温かさ、感動、そしてラトビアの精神に満ちたひとときを創り出してくださいました。また、この思い出深いイベントを実現するためにご尽力くださった主催者・関係者の方々にも、心より感謝申し上げます。🙏🎶

数時間のあいだ、ラトビアが日本に少し近くなり、日本もラトビアに少し近くなったように感じられました。このようなひとときは、文化には、海を越え、世代を越えて、人々の心をつなぐ特別な力があることを改めて感じさせてくれます。🇱🇻❤️🇯🇵

Latvian Music Evening Vol. 3 celebrated the richness of Latvian music, from traditional folk melodies to works by some of Latvia’s most renowned composers, including Pēteris Vasks, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Uģis Prauliņš, Andris Dzenītis and Raimonds Pauls.

For Ambassador-designate Kaspars Krumholcs, the evening was also a wonderful first opportunity to meet members of the Latvian community in Japan and Japanese friends whose support helps Latvian culture flourish far from home.

A special thank you to all the performers and conductors, who shared not only their talent but also their hearts with the audience, creating an evening filled with warmth, inspiration and the spirit of Latvia. We are equally grateful to the organisers and everyone who helped make this memorable event possible. 🙏🎶

For a few hours, Latvia felt a little closer to Japan, and Japan a little closer to Latvia. Moments like these remind us that culture has a unique power to connect hearts across oceans and generations. 🇱🇻❤️🇯🇵

本日、ディアーナ・プトニニャ次席官は広島平和記念式典に参列し、高市早苗内閣総理大臣、横田美香広島県知事、松井一實広島市長、被爆者の皆様、ご遺族、そして国内外の代表者の皆様とともに原爆犠牲者を追悼しました。
1945年8月6日、広島に原子爆弾が投下された時刻と同じ午前8時15分、参加者は犠牲となられた方々、そしてこの悲劇によって人生を永遠に変えられたすべての方々を偲び、1分間の黙とうを捧げました。
広島への原爆投下から81年となる今日、犠牲となられたすべての方々とそのご家族に心より哀悼の意を表します。また、今なおご自身の体験を語り継いでおられる被爆者の皆様に敬意を表するとともに、平和、対話、そして核兵器のない世界の実現に向けた決意を新たにします。

Today, Deputy Head of Mission Ms Diāna Putniņa attended the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony, joining Prime Minister H.E. Sanae Takaichi, Hiroshima Governor Mika Yokota, Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui, atomic bomb survivors, families of victims, and local and international representatives.
At 8:15 a.m., the exact time the atomic bomb exploded over Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, participants observed a minute of silence in memory of those who lost their lives and all those whose lives were forever changed by the tragedy.
Marking 81 years since the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, we offer our heartfelt condolences to all victims and their families. We pay tribute to the survivors who continue to share their experiences and reaffirm our commitment to peace, dialogue, and a world free of nuclear weapons.

Kaspars Krumholcs, Ambassador-Designate Message:
"On my first 6 August in Japan, I join the people of Hiroshima in paying tribute to the victims of the atomic bombing and express my heartfelt respect to the survivors. Their testimonies, passed down through generations, continue to remind humanity of the devastating consequences of nuclear weapons. おなじみの合唱団ガイスマ、クアクレとバイオリンでラトビア音楽を奏でるウズマニーブ Latvian folk music、ラトビア現代作品に取り組む公募合唱団クラーサス、そして全日本合唱コンクール金賞受賞団体・scatola di voceが初出演。

There are very few opportunities in Japan 🇯🇵 to enjoy such a wide-ranging program of Latvian music 🇱🇻🎶 in a single concert.

The concert will feature the beloved Koris Gaisma, UZMANĪBU, performing Latvian music on the traditional kokle and violin, the project choir Koris Krāsas, conducted by Ms. Shino Yamasaki, and, for the first time, the All-Japan Choir Competition Gold Prize-winning vocal ensemble scatola di voce.
