18th August 2026 (Tuesday): ACO Tokyo received a courtesy visit by NEWGREEN Inc representatives Mr. Hiroyuki Iwamatsu, Advisor, Mr. Fujio Takaki, Advisor and Mr. Hiroaki Katsukawa, SME Consultant. NEWGREEN Inc. is a Japanese agritech startup headquartered in Koganei, Tokyo. The Aigamo Robot, NEWGREEN's flagship product, was originally developed to address w**d control, one of the major challenges in organic rice cultivation. At the same time, it has been recognized for its significant ability to reduce methane emissions from rice paddies, which are an important source of greenhouse gas emissions. The company is currently conducting projects in connection with Vietnam's One Million Hectare High-Quality and Low-Emission Rice Program in the Mekong Delta, and activities toward the introduction and demonstration of Aigamorobo are also progressing in China, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and other regions.
During the session, Mr. Iwamatsu outlined the company's objectives and plans to expand its environmental and productivity benefits across Southeast Asia. He highlighted their search for a collaborative partner in Malaysia, which they will visit this September in conjunction with their participation in MAHA 2026 at MAEPS Serdang.
