New Publication✏️In the postwar period, agricultural migration initially dominated Japanese migration to Brazil. However, from 1961 to 1982, a new form of migration known as industrial migration emerged. Through this program, more than 3,000 Japanese technicians migrated primarily to the Greater São Paulo metropolitan area. The introduction of the industrial migration program by Japan’s migration authorities reflected growing interest among a wide range of actors, including the Japanese business community, politicians and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Brazilian business sector.
