横浜市にゆかりのあるJICA海外協力隊の新規派遣者の皆様が副市長と面会
New JICA volunteers who have connections with Yokohama City meet with Deputy Mayor before departing for their assignments

独立行政法人国際協力機構（JICA）は、開発途上地域の経済・社会の発展や復興に協力するため、1965年から海外協力隊を派遣しています。
７月13日に、７月から８月にかけて出発するJICA海外協力隊員９名が松浦副市長と面会しました。
各隊員から派遣国での活動内容についての抱負が伝えられ、松浦副市長は新天地での活動を目前に控えたJICA海外協力隊の皆様を激励しました。

Since 1965, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been dispatching volunteers to support the economic and social development in emerging countries.
On July 13th, nine JICA volunteers scheduled to depart between July and August paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Mayor Matsuura at City Hall. The volunteers shared some of the activities they would be involved with.
Each volunteer expressed their aspirations for their upcoming assignments abroad, and Deputy Mayor Matsuura wished them the best of luck with their tasks in their new venture.

横浜市とセネガル共和国ダカール市は、７月１日に、都市間連携に関する覚書を締結しました
Yokohama and Dakar sign MOU on intercity cooperation

本覚書は、両市の持続可能な都市開発の推進と国際的認知度の向上を目的に、専門知識と知見の共有を通じて、双方の市民や地元企業の利益に資する連携を進めるものです。今後、覚書に基づき、「ビジネス・経済交流」、「次世代育成を目的とした学生や若者との相互交流」、「技術協力」及び「持続可能な都市開発」等の分野での連携を進めます。

また、６月30 日には、覚書の締結に先立ち、「ビジネス・経済」に資する交流の一環として「セネガル投資ビジネスセミナー in 横浜」を開催しました。180 名を超える方々にご参加いただき、セネガルのビジネス環境や日本企業の進出状況について広く学び、セネガル企業と直接交流いただくなど、今後のビジネス交流促進への足掛かりとなりました。

On July 1, the City of Yokohama and the City of Dakar, Republic of Senegal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on intercity cooperation.

The purpose of this MOU is to promote sustainable urban development in both cities and enhance their international recognition. The two cities will advance cooperation that benefits their citizens and local businesses through the sharing of expertise, knowledge, and best practices. Yokohama and Dakar will collaborate in areas including business and economic exchange, mutual exchange and development for the next generation, including students and youth, technical cooperation, and sustainable urban development, as outlined in the MOU.

Prior to the signing of the MOU, the Senegal Investment Business Seminar was held in Yokohama on June 30 as part of efforts to promote business and economic exchange. More than 180 participants attended the seminar, where they learned about Senegal’s business environment and the activities of Japanese companies operating in the country. Participants also had the opportunity to engage directly with Senegalese businesses. The event provided an important foundation for strengthening future business exchanges between the two countries.

2027年、横浜へ ― APUF-9開催を国際会議でPRしました
Yokohama promotes APUF-9 at international conference

7月1日から3日にかけてタイ・バンコクで開催された、国連アジア太平洋経済社会委員会（ESCAP）主催の「第9回環境開発委員会（CED9）」において、日本政府から、2027年に横浜で開催される「第9回アジア太平洋都市フォーラム（APUF-9）」が紹介されました。

APUFは、持続可能な都市づくりをテーマに、各国政府、自治体、国際機関、研究者などが集うアジア太平洋地域最大級の国際会議です。2027年のAPUF-9は、ESCAPと横浜市の共催により開催され、日本で初めての開催となります。

今回のCED9の会場では横浜市がPRブースを出展し、2027年のAPUF-9横浜開催に加え、同年に開催される「GREEN×EXPO 2027」の魅力を紹介しました。

2027年、横浜に各国の都市関係者が集い、都市の持続可能な発展について議論する舞台となります。横浜市は、日本政府、ESCAPをはじめとする国内外のパートナーと連携しながら、APUF-9の成功に向けて準備を進めていきます。

The Government of Japan introduced the 9th Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF-9), which will be held in Yokohama in 2027, at the 9th Committee on Environment and Development (CED9), organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 1 to 3.

APUF is one of the largest international conferences in the Asia-Pacific region focused on sustainable urban development, bringing together national governments, local authorities, international organizations, researchers, and other stakeholders. APUF-9 in 2027 will be jointly hosted by ESCAP and the City of Yokohama, marking the forum’s first-ever meeting in Japan.

The City of Yokohama hosted a promotional booth at the CED9 venue to showcase not only APUF-9 but also GREEN×EXPO 2027, which will also be held in Yokohama that year.

In 2027, Yokohama will become a platform for urban stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to come together and discuss the sustainable development of cities.
The City of Yokohama will continue its preparations for the successful hosting of APUF-9 in close collaboration with the Government of Japan, ESCAP, and other domestic and international partners.

横浜市が、アンモニア燃料タグボートが創出した世界初の認証済み「環境価値」を購入しました
Yokohama purchases world’s first certified “environmental value” generated by ammonia-fueled tugboat

横浜市は、日本郵船株式会社などのコンソーシアムがアンモニアを燃料として航行する環境負荷の低いタグボートを開発してきた段階から、その実用化に向けた取組を連携して進めてきました。
2025年には、「魁」の横浜港での運航によって実現された温室効果ガス排出削減量が定量化され、環境価値として認証されました。この環境価値は、アンモニア燃料船の運航を通じて創出されたものとして世界で初めて第三者認証を取得したものです。その後、横浜市はこの環境価値を購入し、アンモニア燃料への理解促進と、海運業界における脱炭素化の取組の発信に活用しています。
この取組を通じて、横浜市は港湾・海運分野における脱炭素化への挑戦を可視化するとともに、次世代船舶燃料の普及を後押ししています。また、横浜市内企業による先進的な環境・脱炭素活動を広く発信することも目的の一つです。本プロジェクトは、横浜市が2050年までの実現を目指すカーボンニュートラルポート（CNP）の取組にも合致しています。

The City of Yokohama, together with a consortium including Nippon Yusen (NYK), has collaborated on the development and practical implementation of the ammonia-fueled tugboat Sakigake as part of efforts to promote next-generation marine fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2025, greenhouse gas reductions achieved through the vessel's operations in the Port of Yokohama were quantified and converted into what the project calls “environmental value.” This environmental value became the first in the world derived from the operation of an ammonia-fueled vessel to receive third-party certification. Yokohama subsequently purchased the environmental value to raise awareness of ammonia fuel and highlight the maritime industry's efforts toward decarbonization.

Through this initiative, the city aims to make decarbonization efforts in the port and shipping sectors more visible, promote the adoption of next-generation marine fuels, and showcase advanced environmental initiatives undertaken by Yokohama-based companies. The project also aligns with Yokohama's long-term goal of realizing a Carbon Neutral Port (CNP) by 2050.

Delegation from Vietnam visits Yokohama and tours wastewater treatment facilities

５月15日、ベトナム国ドンタップ省人民委員会の代表団が横浜市を訪問し、北部下水道センターを視察しました。今回の訪問は、横浜市とドンタップ省との交流を深め、下水道分野における知見や経験を共有する貴重な機会となりました。

北部下水道センターでは、水処理や汚泥処理の視察を行いました。水処理における活性汚泥の性状や、発電に関する取組などについて、多くの質問が寄せられ、参加者の高い関心がうかがえました。

また、意見交換会では、今後の技術協力や連携の方向性について活発な議論が行われました。横浜市とドンタップ省の双方にとって、有意義な交流の場となり、今後の協力関係をさらに強化する契機となりました。

横浜市は今後も国際技術協力や交流を通じて、海外都市との知見共有や連携を深めながら、持続可能な都市づくりの推進に取り組んでいきます。

On May 15, a delegation from the People’s Committee of D**g Thap Province in Vietnam visited Yokohama and toured the Hokubu No. 2 Wastewater Treatment Plant. The visit offered an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and strengthen ties between the City of Yokohama and D**g Thap Province.

During the tour, participants learned about Yokohama’s wastewater and sludge treatment processes, as well as initiatives related to energy generation. The delegation showed keen interest in the city’s experience and technical expertise.
An exchange meeting was also held to discuss future technical cooperation. The visit helped build stronger relationships and created momentum for continued collaboration between Yokohama and D**g Thap Province in the field of wastewater management.

Yokohama looks forward to further international technical cooperation and exchange with overseas cities.

「横浜フランス月間」（6月12日～7月12日）は、2005年から横浜日仏学院主催（公益財団法人横浜市芸術文化振興財団共催、横浜市後援）で毎年開催している、フランス文化フェスティバルです。大人から子どもまで幅広く楽しめるイベントとして、多くの来場者を迎えています。
今年は「写真誕生200年」をテーマに、横浜赤レンガ倉庫1号館や象の鼻テラス、横浜シネマリンなど市内各所で関連プログラムを実施しました。横浜赤レンガ倉庫1号館では、明治期の貴重な写真と現代フランス人写真家が捉えた横浜の姿を紹介したほか、象の鼻テラスでは海洋・環境問題をテーマとした展示を行いました。
6月26日には、ベアトリス・ル・フラペール・デュ・エレン駐日フランス特命全権大使が山中竹春市長と市長公舎で面会しました。
面会では、都市に集積する研究機関や企業の知見を生かしながら、脱炭素や循環型経済の実現に向けた都市が果たすべき役割の重要性について認識を共有するとともに、大学・研究機関を通じた環境分野における連携可能性についても話題が及びました。
2人は、幅広い分野における協力と交流を深化させることを確認し、最後に、市長から来年開催される横浜グリーンエクスポを紹介して、和やかに面会を締めくくりました。

France Month (June 12–July 12) is a French cultural festival held annually since 2005 by the Institut Français de Yokohama in partnership with the Yokohama Arts Foundation and the support of the City of Yokohama. The festival attracts visitors of all ages every year.

This year’s theme was “200th Anniversary of Photography” and had related programs at several locations throughout the city including the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Zou-no-Hana Terrace, and the independent movie theater Yokohama Cinemarine. The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse hosted an exhibition where valuable photos from the Meiji period were displayed alongside images of Yokohama captured by contemporary French photographers. At Zou-no-Hana Terrace, visitors enjoyed an exhibition focusing on marine and environmental issues.

On June 26, Ms. Béatrice Le Fraper du Hellen, Ambassador of France to Japan, met with Mayor Takeharu Yamanaka at the Mayor's Official Residence.
During the meeting, they shared the view that cities have an important role to play in advancing decarbonization and a circular economy by leveraging the knowledge and expertise accumulated within urban-based research institutions and companies. They also discussed possibilities for cooperation in the environmental field through academic and research organizations.

The meeting concluded on a cordial note, with Mayor Yamanaka remarks on GREEN×EXPO 2027 and both parties reaffirming their wish to deepen collaboration and exchange in a wide range of fields.

2027年夏の第11回太平洋・島サミットの横浜開催が決定しました
Yokohama to host the 11th Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM11)

６月17日、木原内閣官房長官から、次回の第11 回太平洋・島サミット（PALM11） を、来年夏頃に神奈川県横浜市で開催する旨の発表がありました。
太平洋・島サミット（PALM: Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting）は、日本が、ミクロネシア、メラネシア、ポリネシアの国々からなる太平洋島嶼国・地域との関係を強化する目的で、1997 年より３年ごとに日本で開催している国際会議です。
これまで、本市は、APEC 首脳会合（2010 年）や過去４回のアフリカ開発会議（2008 年、2013 年、2019 年、2025 年）といった、多くの首脳級国際会議において、ホストシティとして会議の成功に貢献してきました。太平洋・島サミットが横浜で開催されるのは今回が初めてとなります。
太平洋・島サミットでは、島嶼国・地域の首脳が集まり気候変動をはじめ様々な課題について議論が行われてきました。本市はこの機会を捉え、2027 年開催の「横浜グリーンエクスポ」、また、循環型都市への移行やグローバル人材の育成など本市政策との相乗効果につなげていきます。

【太平洋・島サミットについて】
外務省の主催する首脳会議であり、1997 年より３年ごとに、日本国内で実施されている。PALM10 の参加国・地域は太平洋島嶼国18 か国・地域＋日本であり、資源、気候変動、開発、海洋、平和、安全保障など、多様なテーマについて議論を行った。

On June 17, Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara announced that the 11th Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM11) will be held in Yokohama in the summer of 2027.
PALM (Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting) is a summit hosted by the Government of Japan every three years since 1997 to strengthen ties with Pacific Island countries and territories across Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia.
Yokohama has a strong track record as a host city for major international conferences, including the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (2010) and four editions of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in 2008, 2013, 2019, and 2025. PALM11 will be the first Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting ever held in Yokohama.
The summit brings together leaders from Pacific Island countries and territories to exchange views on issues of shared interest, including climate change. Yokohama will take this opportunity to showcase its initiatives toward a circular economy, sustainability, and global talent development, while building momentum for GREEN×EXPO 2027.
We look forward to welcoming leaders and delegates from across the Pacific and further strengthening our partnerships for a sustainable future.
[About the Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting]
This is a summit organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) and has been held in Japan every three years since 1997. The participating countries and regions in PALM10 included 18 Pacific Island countries and regions plus Japan, covering a wide range of topics such as natural resources, climate change, development, the oceans, peace, and security.

山中市長は、2026年6月にドイツを訪問し、重要な会談を行いました。
6月10日には、ボンにて日独産業協会（DJW）のゲアハルト・ヴィースホイ理事長と会談しました。DJWは、約1,000名が参加する日独の経済対話プラットフォームです。会談では、2027年の横浜グリーンエクスポおよび「国際サーキュラー総合展」を紹介し、会員企業の参加促進に向けて連携していくことを確認しました。
続く6月11日にはフランクフルト市を訪問し、マイク・ヨーゼフ市長と会談しました。両市は2011年からパートナー都市として連携しており、今回の会談では、次世代交流の促進や、横浜グリーンエクスポ2027の成功に向けた協力を確認しました。また、循環型都市への移行に向けた連携強化でも一致しました。
さらに、横浜で開催予定のAPCCフォーラムに欧州代表として参加を依頼したところ、ヨーゼフ市長から参加の意向が示されました。

Mayor Yamanaka visited Germany in June 2026, holding a series of important meetings.
On June 10, in Bonn, he met with Gerhard Wiesheu, Chairman of the Japanese-German Business Association (DJW), an organization with around 1,000 members that promotes economic dialogue between Japan and Germany. During the meeting, Mayor Yamanaka introduced GREEN×EXPO 2027 and the International Circular Exhibition, encouraging participation from member companies.
On June 11, he visited Frankfurt, Yokohama’s partner city since 2011, and met with Mayor Mike Josef. They confirmed cooperation in promoting exchanges between youth, ensuring the success of GREEN×EXPO 2027, and strengthening collaboration toward the transition to circular cities.
Mayor Josef also expressed his intention to participate in the APCC Forum in Yokohama as a representative speaker from Europe.

ゼロ・ウェイスト・フォーラムで横浜市の取組を紹介
Yokohama showcases its initiatives at the Zero Waste Forum

横浜市は、2026年６月５日～７日にトルコ・イスタンブールで開催された「ゼロ・ウェイスト・フォーラム」に参加しました。本フォーラムには、国連の「ゼロ・ウェイスト世界先進20都市」に、2026年３月に、日本で横浜市が唯一選ばれたことを受け、招待されたものです。

会場には各国・各都市のリーダーらが集い、ごみゼロに向けた実践的な議論が行われました。横浜市は４つのセッションに登壇し、市民との協働により20年間で約50％のごみ削減を実現した取組や、サーキュラーエコノミーの推進について紹介しました。

また、横浜市がアジア循環型都市宣言制度（ACCD）の署名第１号都市であることや、今後の展開を紹介するとともに、９月開催予定のアジア・太平洋循環型都市フォーラム（APCC-Forum）について発信しました。

今後も横浜市は、廃棄物削減や資源循環の先進都市として、その取組を海外に発信するとともに、国際会議等への参加を通じて他都市の知見を取り入れ、相互に政策力の向上を図っていきます。

The City of Yokohama was invited to participate in the Zero Waste Forum held in Istanbul, Türkiye, which took place from June 5 to 7, 2026, following its selection as the only Japanese city among the United Nations’ “Top 20 Zero Waste Cities” in March 2026.
The forum brought together leaders from countries and cities around the world to discuss practical approaches toward achieving zero waste. Yokohama contributed to four sessions, sharing its achievements, including a nearly 50% reduction in waste over the past 20 years through close collaboration with residents, as well as its efforts to promote a circular economy.
Yokohama also introduced its role as the first signatory city of the Asian Circular Cities Declaration (ACCD) and outlined future developments. In addition, the city promoted the upcoming Asia-Pacific Circular Cities Forum (APCC-Forum) scheduled for September.
Moving forward, Yokohama will continue to share its advanced initiatives in waste reduction and resource circulation globally, while also learning from other cities through international conferences to further strengthen policy development.

山中市長が国連機関との会談を行い国際連携を強化しました
Mayor Yamanaka strengthens collaboration with UN organizations

2026年6月、山中市長はドイツ・ボンを訪問し、国連関連機関との会談を通じて、持続可能な社会の実現や市民参加の促進、生物多様性の保全に向けた国際連携を強化しました。
UNV（国連ボランティア計画）本部では、アンドレイ・ポグリブニャク事務局次長と会談しました。UNVは世界各地でボランティア活動を通じて国連の取組を支える機関です。会談では、若い世代を含む横浜市民が国際社会とつながる機会を広げるため、キャリアセミナーの開催など連携を進めていくことを確認しました。
また、UN SDG Action Campaign（国連SDGアクションキャンペーン）では、マリーナ・ポンティ グローバル・ディレクターと会談しました。同機関はSDGs達成に向けた意識向上と行動促進を目的とした取組を推進しています。横浜市は「STYLE100」やAPCCフォーラムなどの取組を紹介し、今後の協力について意見交換を行いました。
さらに、IPBESではルサンド・ジバ事務局長と会談し、生物多様性と生態系サービスに関する科学と政策の連携強化について議論しました。横浜市は2027年の横浜グリーンエクスポを紹介し、生物多様性の損失という地球規模課題への対応の重要性を共有しました。
これらの会談を通じて、横浜市は国際社会との連携を一層深め、持続可能な都市の実現に向けた取組を推進していきます。

In June 2026, Mayor Yamanaka visited Bonn, Germany, and strengthened international collaboration through meetings with UN-related organizations.
At UN Volunteers (UNV), he met with Deputy Executive Coordinator Andrey Pogrebnyak. Both sides discussed expanding opportunities for Yokohama citizens, especially younger generations, to engage globally through initiatives such as career seminars.
At the UN SDG Action Campaign, the Mayor met with Global Director Marina Ponti. Yokohama shared initiatives like STYLE100 and the APCC-Forum, and exchanged views on future cooperation to promote SDG action.
He also met with Executive Secretary Luthando Dziba at IPBES to discuss biodiversity challenges and introduce GREEN×EXPO 2027.
Yokohama will continue to reaffirm its commitment to international cooperation toward sustainability.
