Those in the photos and videos are BaGishu from Uganda collecting IDs and are being registered by IEBC as voters of Mt Elgoni. If you listen they speak in the videos in Bagishu language. The exercise is being funded by the MP. These are around 500 people but the exercise started a year ago. 2000 IDs were released from Nairobi and collection started today. Each person is being given 2000/- for transport and is said the money is from the government.

The MP plans to register around 20k Ugandan voters spread in Cheptais, Chesikaki, Chepyuk and Kapkateny wards.

The purpose of mobilizing these foreign voters is to vote for the president, MP , Governor and MCAs of his choice in 2027 general election.
