We are deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Jane Omusula, a beloved alumna of Lunza Secondary School, who tragically lost her life yesterday in a plane crash in Nairobi while serving with AMREF Flying Doctors.
Jane was a beacon of dedication, compassion, and service to humanity. Her commitment to saving lives through her work with AMREF Flying Doctors touched countless people across Kenya and beyond. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts as a true symbol of selflessness, excellence, and courage.
Lunza has lost. Marama West has lost. Butere Constituency has lost big. Jane was not only a daughter of her family but a pride of our community — a shining star whose light has gone out too soon.
To her family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew her, we extend our deepest sympathies. May you find comfort in the legacy she leaves behind and the many lives she inspired.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.

**Transforming Butere Through Better Health for All**

Good health is the foundation of development, dignity, and productivity. As a son of Butere, I firmly believe that our people deserve quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare — from our children to our elders.

My vision is to build a healthier Butere through:

✅ **Equipping health facilities** with modern tools, medicines, and enough trained personnel
✅ **Organizing quality free medical camps / mobile clinics** to serve remote villages and underserved areas
✅ **Supporting community health programs** focused on maternal care, preventive medicine, nutrition, and mental health
✅ **Partnering with national & county health agencies** to improve SHA (Social Health Authority) coverage and reduce out-of-pocket medical costs
✅ **Youth empowerment through health education** and awareness campaigns on drug abuse, reproductive health, and hygiene
A strong Butere is a healthy Butere. I am committed to seeing a future where no family sells land to pay hospital bills and no child misses school due to preventable diseases.
Let us walk this journey together, hand in hand, for a healthier and more prosperous Butere.

*WHY THE PEOPLE OF BUTERE ARE STUCK IN POVERTY — AND HOW BAD LEADERSHIP IS MAKING IT WORSE** Continued....
✅ Parents: Let’s value our children’s education, especially for girls.
✅ Churches: Let’s speak out and support school-going children.
✅ Teachers: Let’s teach with passion and report when things are not right.
✅ Youth: Let’s go back to school, even if it’s vocational training.
✅ Leaders: We must elect those who care about education, not just giving handouts.
# # # 💡 The Way Forward
* Push for **free, quality secondary education**
* Demand accountability on **CDF spending**
* Support school feeding programs
* Encourage mentorship and role models
* Build community-owned **TVET centers**
# # # ✊ Let’s Break the Chains
If we don’t educate our children, **our poverty will continue for generations**. The real freedom for Butere will come when every child can sit in a classroom, learn, and dream big.
No more ignorance.
No more manipulation.
No more silence.
**Education is power. And power belongs to the people.**

*WHY THE PEOPLE OF BUTERE ARE STUCK IN POVERTY — AND HOW BAD LEADERSHIP IS MAKING IT WORSE**
Many families in Butere are still poor. Our children are dropping out of school. Young girls are becoming mothers too early. Boys are riding boda bodas without skills. Many young people have no jobs, no certificates, no hope.
But ask yourself: **Why is this happening in 2025, when education is supposed to be free?**
Let’s speak the truth.
# # # 📌 1. Poor Education = More Poverty
Education is the key to a better life. But in Butere, many children are not going to school, or they drop out early. This leads to:
* More teenage pregnancies
* More youth without jobs
* More early marriages
* More poverty in families
# # # 📌 2. Why Are Our Schools Failing?
* **Not enough teachers**
* **Lack of books and desks**
* **Hungry children who can’t concentrate**
* **No money for uniforms or exam fees**
* **Long distances to school**
It’s even worse in villages like Shiatsala, Shihaka, Buchenya, and Bukura.
# # # ⚠️ 3. Some Leaders Are Silent or Part of the Problem
Now let’s face a bitter truth: **some leaders like it when our people stay poor and uneducated**. Why?
* Because an educated voter asks questions.
* Because poverty makes it easier to buy votes with handouts.
* Because they fear a population that can challenge bad leadership.
Have you noticed how some leaders only talk about education when elections are near? Then they disappear.
They give bursaries to a few students and call it development. But what about new classrooms? What about feeding programs? What about proper teachers in every school?
# # # ❗ 4. When Youth Lose Hope, Crime Rises
Without education, our youth: Join gangs, Use drugs, Get into early marriages, Live without dreams, and when people are desperate, they can be used by politicians to cause chaos during campaigns. That’s how the cycle continues.
# # # 🌱 5. What Can We Do?
We need to **wake up** as the people of Butere:
To be cont....

I believe I am suited to the role of member of parliament for Butere;
1. Because I have the skills, qualities and attributes to match the job description, and
2. Because I am someone who simply has a keen desire to lead and manage people.

Good leadership shuns away from the bottle neck ways of management. We should all encourage every sought of talents, search into one's ability, cheer those who are trying and guide the youthful generation into resource building. I believe that Butere has enough to be shared equally to all. As we plan to change the minds of our people towards self reliance, let's also work towards the practice of being truthful to ourselves and people around us.

As we talk of the future, our plans glow with beautiful colors cz the communities realise that our faces brighten for our ears are filled with the reality that "yes, we are indeed the bearers of the future". We did it before and soon we are on it again. Our dreams revolve around a better tomorrow. We appreciate what happens today cz it's exactly what will give us the impetus to work even harder to achieve a better future. We intend to make impossibilities become reality. For this reason, Individuals will achieve healthier lifestyles when prevention and wellness programs are accessible and available in their workplace, through their health provider, and in their communities. We are the community, and we are ready to facilitate and agitate for a healthier Butere.

Thinking about my constituency. That today their is development and that we are in a competition with already well off regions in the country. When other counties talk of empowering it's people in terms of agriculture, education, health and what matters to humanities, we are busy painting our area with beautiful colors in the name of story buildings, school buses etc. Education is not all about school vans, we dream to educate our children and the best way to do so is by paying their school fee. Unless we teach ourselves on activities that will bring a coin to our people's pockets, then poverty will teach us to always want relief. Let's appreciate and work as per the MDG's if not sustainable development goals. Let's look at our symptoms and reason beyond them to cure our region from poverty.
It's my hope and believe that you can't start climbing a tree from the top. Let's all think positively as we forge towards 2022. Let's plan to hit the nail on the head. Let's appreciate the future for the future is here with us.

I'm strong today because I was taught and I know that our people will never learn. You pick someone from grass, try to get some illiteracy out of his skull, you feed his belly full. Then he becomes bossy, chases away your visitors, talks like he owns the universe and takes over the whole premise.
When I discovered this, the guys job ended without a warning letter. His tummy coiled to the back and his mouth remains open.
People suffer alot from apathy, he believes that if you build a good house, uko illuminati. He talks of everyone having not stepped in class. Anyone sick in his village is a thief who stole money from places.
It's my believe that all this will come to an end soon.
The future is now
