KENYA–EGYPT PARTNERSHIP BOOSTS WATER DEVELOPMENT.
The Chief Executive Officer of the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, Mr. Edwin C. Rotich, today, joined the Principal Secretary for Water and Sanitation, Julius Korir, together with Ministry officials and Agencies representatives, in a high-level meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador to Kenya. The engagement focused on strengthening collaboration and sharing expertise to advance key water development projects across the country.
Among the proposals discussed was the expansion of the Chebara Water Supply Project, which currently serves Eldoret Town and its surrounding areas. The plan involves installing an additional treated water pipeline, along with the necessary supporting infrastructure, alongside the existing system to enhance supply capacity and improve access for residents in Eldoret and neighbouring communities.
During the meeting, the Principal Secretary commended the strong and growing partnership between Kenya and Egypt, reaffirming the government’s commitment to initiatives that deliver sustainable water solutions, enhance livelihoods, and drive socio-economic development.
