University of Eldoret today hosts the 2026 World Tourism Day celebrations at the University’s Charter Grounds, bringing together government leaders, academia, tourism stakeholders, industry players, students and members of the public to celebrate the importance and potential of tourism.

The celebrations are graced by Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Rebecca Miano, EGH, and Principal Secretary, State Department for Tourism, Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok, M.B.S.

The day’s programme also features an Interdenominational Sunday Service dedicated to all first-year students of University of Eldoret , providing an opportunity for the University community to come together in fellowship and welcome the newest members of the UoE family.

At ABTF 2026, the U.S. Embassy showcased MATATUSA, one of its American Spaces, connecting young people with technology, knowledge and opportunities from the United States.🇺🇸

Day Two of the University of Eldoret Annual Agri-Business Trade Fair (ABTF) 2026 brought together innovation, agriculture, tourism and industry as the University continued to showcase the transformative work happening across its campuses and beyond.

The University welcomed Amb. Prof. Julius Bitok, Principal Secretary, State Department for Tourism, who graced the day as Chief Guest. Accompanied by members of the University Council, University Management Board and other distinguished guests, the PS toured the University’s demonstration plots and exhibition stands, engaging with exhibitors, sponsors and innovators showcasing solutions and technologies across the agricultural value chain.

From innovative agricultural practices and value-added products to technologies and enterprise solutions, the exhibitions provided a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and the commercialisation of ideas, highlighting the important role of universities in driving sustainable development and supporting industry.

The day culminated in an evening stakeholder dinner hosted by the University at Eka Hotel, Eldoret, bringing together partners, sponsors, exhibitors and other stakeholders for an evening of networking, appreciation and reflection on the partnerships that continue to make ABTF a platform for meaningful engagement between academia, industry and the community.

As ABTF 2026 enters day three today, the University remains committed to innovation, partnerships and the transformation of knowledge into solutions that create impact.
