On a vibrant day filled with culture and community spirit, His Excellency Major (Rtd) Dr. Dhadho Gaddae Godhana graced the Pokomo community at Kongowe Primary School in Mombasa for an extraordinary cultural festival. This grand event served as a powerful testament to the rich heritage and traditions of the Pokomo people.

A highlight of the festival was the ceremonial coronation of Mr. Abdalla Bakari Shewo as the Chairman of the Gaasa Council of Elders for the Mombasa branch. JAMHURI DAY CELEBRATIONS

On December 12, 2024, Tana River County celebrated the 61st Jamhuri Day at Hola Stadium, led by Governor Maj. (Rtd) Dr. Dhadho Gaddae Godhana. The event honored Kenya's independence and emphasized unity, peace, and collaboration for development. The Governor highlighted key initiatives, including infrastructure development, improved healthcare, modern farming, and climate resilience, while calling for collective action to address regional challenges.

Simultaneously, President William Ruto's speech, relayed by the Tanariver County Commissioner, stressed the importance of combating disinformation that threatens national stability. He reported significant economic progress, including job creation through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and improved healthcare access via the Taifa Care initiative.

A vibrant aspect of the celebrations was the rich cultural entertainment that showcased the diverse heritage of Tana River's people, symbolizing their strength to coexist harmoniously. Performances included Brand Kubra Production's poignant poetry, Fatuma Koi Koi's captivating shairi, and the energetic Tiger Dancers. Other highlights featured Nukta Pacha, Rai Mzazi, Asgar, Gurumesa, and the lively Kilumbilumbi and Wachole dance troupes.
