It was formed in 2007 by a group of youths who were students by then and were operating the organization without a certificate but good news came in 2013 when it was registered by the The ministry of Gender Children and Social Development at the District Gender Social Development office. Most of the youths right now are engaged in different fields and have now purposed to help the community in overcoming and reducing the challenges they went through when they were student youths.(SLIPRO) being a non-profit group work at a local level to improve life for residents of Homa Bay County. The focus of (SLIPRO) is to build equality across society in all streams - health care, environment, quality of education, access to technology, access to spaces and information for the disabled, talent identification and development to name but a few. (SLIPRO) is staffed by local members - community members who experience first hand the needs within their neighborhoods. Besides being connected geographically, the only link between the members and their interests is the desire and willingness to help. As a community based organization Summer Link Promotions pervade all facets of life in the county and its neighborhoods, whether in health, the environment, recreation, education, public safety and more number of neighborhood issues it also strives to be a prominent player in civic,economic,social life and the individual and collective work,
