Earlier today, the Office of the MCA Junda Ward, led by Hon. Kai, visited the dedicated members of Kajaweni Asili Group.
The group had been working tirelessly to raise funds for a community tent but were short by Ksh 20,000. In line with a commitment made earlier, Hon. Kai fulfilled his promise by supporting them to achieve their goal.

The Office commends the group’s unity, determination, and spirit of self-reliance — true reflections of community empowerment and progress. Hon. Kai reaffirmed his continued readiness to support all community groups that strive to uplift themselves, regardless of background or status.

This evening, the Office of the MCA Junda Ward, led by Hon. Kai, had the pleasure of visiting a local fishermen group known as KULAGA.
During the visit, Hon. Kai fulfilled a promise made earlier by delivering fishing nets to support the group’s work and improve their livelihood.

The meeting provided an opportunity to engage in a productive discussion on the challenges facing the fishermen and possible ways to strengthen their operations. Hon. Kai assured the group of his continued commitment to address issues affecting their welfare and productivity.

As part of his broader empowerment agenda, plans are also underway to construct a fishermen’s shed — a safe and convenient space for storing equipment and enhancing efficiency in their daily activities.

On Sunday, the Office of the MCA – Junda Ward, led by Hon. Kai, fulfilled a promise made to the hardworking bodaboda riders of Neema Stage. The team officially handed over a newly constructed shade to provide comfort and protection as the riders wait for their customers.

This small but meaningful project is a testament to our continued commitment to supporting the men and women who keep Junda moving every day.

During the handover, Hon. Kai commended the riders for their unity and dedication, reaffirming that this is just one of many grassroots initiatives aimed at uplifting our people.

Yesterday, our MCA had the honor of joining the Faith Prestige Academy community for the launch of their new school van — a remarkable milestone in advancing access to quality education for our children.

Leading the occasion, the MCA welcomed the County Minister for Infrastructure, Hon. Dan Manyala, and used the opportunity to strongly advocate for the construction of the access road leading to the school. This road is not only critical for learners, parents, and staff, but also for the wider community who continue to be affected by its poor condition.

Together with the Head Teacher, we held a constructive discussion and agreed to convene a meeting with the full School Board to deliberate and resolve the matter.

In the spirit of unity and compassion during this blessed month of Ramadan, my office, in partnership with the Mombasa County Assembly Speaker Hon.Aharub Khatri, has embarked on an initiative to distribute dates to all mosques across Junda Ward. This effort is aimed at supporting our brothers and sisters, observing the fast to break their fasts with dignity and ease.

Today marked the beginning of this noble exercise, and we are committed to continuing the distribution early tomorrow, Insha'Allah. Ramadan is a time for generosity, and we are honoured to contribute to the well-being of our people.

Today, I chaired a productive engagement between my committee and the Chief Officer for Finance to address critical matters raised in the Nancy Githungu (Auditor General’s) report regarding the management of the Receiver of Revenue and the County Revenue Fund.

Key issues discussed included enhancing accountability mechanisms, improving revenue collection processes, and safeguarding public funds to ensure compliance with audit recommendations. The committee emphasized the urgency of closing existing gaps and implementing robust measures to protect Mombasa’s resources for the benefit of all residents.

In attendance were the Deputy Chairperson, Hon. Khamis Nyota (MCA, Ziwa la Ngombe Ward), Hon Mariam Baimu( MCA frere town) and Hon. Patrick Mbele(MCA,Bamburi Ward) member of the PAIC,their contributions underscored our collective resolve to uphold fiscal responsibility and transparency in line with our mandate.

As a committee, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ensure that every shilling collected is accounted for, and that Mombasa’s resources remain in safe, accountable hands.
We will continue to work closely with the Finance Department and all stakeholders to institutionalize best practices and deliver results that residents deserve.
