It is with great sorrow that I have received the news of the passing of Mzee Laban Cheserek (Ndolo) of Kapchepkulei Village, Saimo/Kipsaraman Ward.
Mzee Ndolo was a respected elder, a proud member of the Korongoro age-set, and a man whose wisdom and counsel were treasured by many. He believed in peace, unity, and the progress of our community, and he never hesitated to guide those who sought his advice.
To me, his passing is deeply personal. Mzee Ndolo stood with me throughout my political journey and gave me his full support when I sought the mandate to serve as the Member of County Assembly for Saimo/Kipsaraman Ward. He believed in me, encouraged me, and constantly reminded me to remain committed to serving our people with humility and integrity.
Our relationship went beyond politics. We kept in touch and visited one another from time to time. I was therefore deeply saddened when I visited him while he was undergoing treatment. We all prayed and hoped that he would recover and return home, but God, in His wisdom, called him to eternal rest.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life that was well lived, a life of wisdom, humility, and service to the God and humanity. His counsel, kindness, and unwavering faith in the future of our people will remain a lasting inspiration.
On behalf of my family and the people of Saimo/Kipsaraman Ward, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, friends, the Korongoro age-set, and the entire society of Kapchepkulei. May the Almighty God grant you comfort, strength, and peace during this difficult period.
Fare thee well, Mzee Ndolo. Your legacy will live on in the many lives you touched and in the values you so faithfully upheld.
May your soul rest in eternal peace
