KAJIADO SOUTH ENVIRONMENT STAFF MEETING-KIMANA
The Department of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change convened an official staff engagement meeting in Kimana, Kajiado South, chaired by CECM Madam Judy Neiyeiyo Pere, and attended by Chief Officer Mr James Ngugi, Director Climate Change Mr. Peter Pushati, NEMA County Director Mr. Mark Angwenyi, and county environment officers.
The engagement provided a platform for staff to present updates on their mandate, key achievements, and operational challenges in the delivery of environmental services at the sub-county level. Officers further shared field experiences relating to environmental compliance, enforcement, community sensitization, and general environmental management.
Directors provided updates on ongoing departmental programmes and strategic areas of collaboration, with emphasis on the FLLoCA program and other partner-supported initiatives focused on climate resilience, environmental conservation, and sustainable development across the county.
CECM Madam Judy Neiyeiyo Pere commended officers for their commitment, professionalism, and teamwork in service delivery. She reaffirmed the Departmentβs commitment to strengthening sub-county operations through capacity building and continuous institutional support to address identified gaps. She further emphasized the importance of adherence to the Employment Act, discipline, and integrity in public service.
NEMA County Director Mr. Mark Angwenyi explained the need for strict compliance with environmental laws and regulations, urging officers to deepen their understanding of relevant legal frameworks.
The meeting reaffirmed the County Governmentβs commitment to strengthening interagency collaboration, improving institutional capacity, and enhancing environmental governance and service delivery in Kajiado County.
