KDSP II ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL RISK, HEALTH & SOCIAL SAFEGUARDS AND GRM COMMITTEE CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING

A successful Environmental, Social Risk, Health and Social Safeguards, and Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) Committee meeting and capacity-building under the Kenya Devolution Support Programme II (KDSP II) has been convened.

The meeting which was closed by the County Coordinator, Winfred Taiko, focused on the development and strengthening of the GRM Committee to enhance accountability, transparency, environmental compliance, workplace safety, and social safeguards in county development projects.

The training highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the GRM Committee, including grievance handling, risk mitigation, community engagement, compliance monitoring, reporting and stakeholder coordination.

County Departments represented included Environment and Climate Change Unit, GRM Unit,Public Health and Medical Services, NEMA, DOSH, and Social Services.

A work plan was developed to guide implementation, monitoring, reporting, and continuous capacity strengthening for effective safeguard compliance under KDSP II projects.

STAFF PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL SYSTEM (SPAS )SENSITIZATION EXERCISE.

The Department of Public Service, Administration, Inspectorate Services & Citizen Participation, through the State Department for Devolution (KDSP II) yesterday facilitated a sensitisation exercise on the Staff Performance Appraisal System (SPAS) in Loitoktok, Kajiado South Sub County.

The team was led by the County Programme Coordinator,Winfred Taiko.

"This initiative is designed to strengthen accountability, fairness, and staff development across our public service," said Ms Taiko.

She added that KDSP II, was building a stronger and more accountable public service that values staff development and evidence-driven performance.
