Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Mwikunda Mosque in Mumias West, following an invitation from area mosques chairmen in the area.

What stood out for me was the conversation. I listened to thoughtful ideas about the future of our county and how we can build a Kakamega that creates opportunity for everyone — regardless of religion, age or social status.

I was also encouraged by the work of the Mumias West Muslim Development Organization, a community-based organization bringing people together around development. I was glad to offer my support to their efforts, and I look forward to doing more as we continue working together.

Thank you for the warm welcome and, most importantly, for the honest conversation.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to engage with residents at Bunge la Wananchi Kona, Mumias.

We had an honest conversation about the immense potential of Mumias Town and the future of Kakamega County. Our discussions centered on creating opportunities for our youth, supporting local businesses, reviving economic activity and ensuring development reaches every part of our county.

I appreciate everyone who took the time to share their views and ideas. Listening to the people remains the foundation of meaningful leadership.
Together, we can unlock the full potential of Mumias and build a stronger Kakamega for generations to come.

Yesterday, I joined the family, friends and residents of Marama Central Ward Emukokho Village in paying my respects and standing in solidarity during a time of mourning.
Even in moments like these, we are reminded that our responsibility to one another extends beyond words. It is about building communities where development reaches every family and every village.
Kakamega has immense potential. Together, we can restore stalled development, create opportunities for our young people and build a county that works for everyone.
I also reaffirmed my belief that Kenya needs principled, visionary leadership at every level. Together with leaders who share this commitment, including Edwin Sifuna, we can help shape a stronger Kakamega and a better Kenya.
May the departed soul continue to rest in eternal peace.
