vernmental Organization operating in the western region of Kenya. Its overall aim is to protect and promote the rights of women and children in a society where these rights are respected and they have opportunities to advance their livelihoods.of children under five years (U5) (promoting ENA’s to improve feeding practices and integrated gardens to improve nutrition diversity), and joint outreach services with MoH in growth monitoring, village malaria campaigns and radio messaging reaching over 132,300 poor women and U5 children across the sub-county and increasing the number of women delivering with the help of a skilled attendant. Community Health and Empowerment forums (circles) have been conducted with the help of 100 community resource volunteers leading weekly empowerment and health meetings at village level and home visits in 100 villages. More than 50 Care Groups are providing healthcare, community health insurance and education to 2,311 disadvantaged children and their carers. ITNs distributed to 1,590 U5s and more than 1,117 malaria cases referred. Under Gender based violence, COT has rescued over 568 abused women/adolescence girls and provided legal services to 1,732 women. Over 450 teenage mothers have received training in protection, child health, reproductive health and vocational training.

PROJECT OFFICER (1 Post)

Overall Purpose of the Job
To plan, execute and monitor the Child Survival and health Project according to the pre determined timeline and budget and in line with the national MNCH Standards and donor requirements. Build and manage project team and maintain good working relationship with the stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with County teams and other stakeholders to plan, implement the project in accordance to the project agreement

Manage the project funds with support from the Finance Officer and other project staff.

Maintain a good working relationship with the county government and provide regular updates on project status

Guide technical staff in identification and addressing health systems and community system gaps and challenges among women and children that impact into their wellbeing

Work with other project team in packaging evidences generated alongside the identified project strategic components for the programme

Team up and work with Community health facilitators to build up a workable and cost-effective model for the MNCH program

Ensure timely compilation of projects reports from all components and liaise with ME officer and CHF to ensure prompt reports submission to the CEO

In liaison with CEO and other technical staff actively participate in programme development, proposal writing consistent with COT strategic approaches.

Lead technical teams in focusing on results and to actively participate in results management in line with agreed results-based framework for the project

Spearhead documentation of lessons learned and best practices for wider dissemination

Support the Project team in adhering to operational regulations and the set standards for project management and financial procedures

Promote teamwork and encourage project teams and partners in owning the program and ensure quality provision of MNCH services.

Manage technical staff performance and development
Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in public health, nursing, community development, project management or related field

Experience in project design, planning and management skills including results analysis on project performance

Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills

Well-versed with national and county government structures including health systems

Good team player, cultural sensitive with good interpersonal and communication skills

Five or more years of experience in implementing MNCH Projects

Must be computer literate.

Overall Purpose of the position:
To manage acute cases, linkages, growth monitoring and referrals of the target groups

Key responsibilities
Provide the highest standard of health services to clients through mobile outreach

Make the necessary health referrals and linkages
Facilitate trainings in maternal newborn and child health care practices

Provide guidance on nutrition activities for U5, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers

Requirements
Diploma in Registered Community Health Nursing

Membership to relevant professional body such as the Nursing Council of Kenya

Minimum five years’ experience gained from a maternal heath and child survival project Extensive knowledge of child survival and maternal health, practices and procedures

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Computer literate

Team player

Work with minimal supervision and delivers within deadlines
