West Pokot County Assembly Sectoral Committee on Agriculture visited Kikin Irrigation project in Tamugh location, Sook ward.

During the visit, KCSAP-West Pokot County team was applauded for their commitment to create a resilient community through ways that engage and sustain the farmers.

Funded by the Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture, Kikin Irrigation Project is expected to benefit 300 households from the ward and assorted crops will be grown including green grams, mangoes, pawpaws, maize, beans, onions which will eventually lead to improved food security, increased household incomes and enhanced nutrition.

The County Assembly committee was led by the chairman Hon Emmanuel Akasile while the Department of Agriculture was led by the CEC Mr Wilfred Longronyang.

Also in attendance were Mrs. Naomi Lemreng,chief officerfor agriculture and livestock and KCSAP West Pokot county coordinator, Mr Philip Ting'aa.
