BREAKING NEWS 🚨
Another tragic accident has occurred along the Kapsabet–Chavakali Highway, near Kaptik Secondary School, an area that has become a notorious accident blackspot.
This heartbreaking incident comes barely three months after a fatal crash in the same area claimed the lives of two students and a boda boda rider. Sadly, history has repeated itself. A speeding vehicle reportedly hit four students and a boda boda rider, leading to the tragic loss of one student's life, while others sustained injuries.
As residents, parents, and road users, we are deeply concerned by the deteriorating condition of this road. The highway is riddled with potholes, has narrow sections, and lacks safe spaces for pedestrians and cyclists to escape from speeding vehicles.
We urgently call upon the Government, the relevant road authorities, and the Kenya National Highways Authority to intervene without further delay. Lives continue to be lost on this road, and immediate action is needed to repair the highway, improve road safety measures, install speed-control mechanisms, and protect innocent road users.
Our heartfelt condolences go to the family of the deceased student, and we wish a quick recovery to those injured. Enough is enough—human lives must come before anything else. 💔🕊️
