The Security Sector Reform (SSR) and Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Level 2 Course is underway at the Peace and Conflict Studies School, bringing together 23 participants from Botswana, Comoros, Ethiopia, France, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Switzerland, Tunisia and Zambia for an 8-day learning experience focused on strengthening peace and security practice. 🌍🤝
The course provides participants with practical knowledge and perspectives to better understand and address complex security challenges, while strengthening their capacity to support effective security sector transformation, sustainable reintegration and lasting peace in conflict-affected and transitioning societies.
Speaking during the opening, Dr Steve Tharakan, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Swiss🇨🇭 Embassy, highlighted the importance of building professional capacity in SSR and DDR as a key investment in sustainable peace and stability.
The diverse participation reflects the value of international collaboration in developing stronger, more effective approaches to peacebuilding and security governance. 🌍✨
