I later joined parents and university and college bound students at Kaplemeywet Village for a motivation and empowerment session as they prepare to embark on their tertiary education journey.

I encouraged the students to remain focused on their academics, uphold discipline, choose their friends wisely, and stay away from drugs and substance abuse.

Thereafter, I visited the bereaved family of the late Andrew Maritim of Kapsimotwet, where I joined them in mourning and shared in their grief during this difficult time.

Men, as providers and leaders of our households, have an important role to play in building strong families and a responsible society.

I was honored to grace the African Inland Church (AIC) Men’s Conference at Laliat Secondary School in Ainamoi Ward, which brought together men and elders from more than 10 DCCs across the Kericho Central region.

The conference, presided over by the guest speaker, Dr. Rev. Julia Langat of Kabarak University, challenged men and elders to embrace their God-given responsibility and lead their families and communities with righteousness, integrity and wisdom.

I commend the AIC leadership for creating a platform that strengthens men in faith, leadership and service to society.

It has been a great honor for Kericho to host the Water and Sanitation Providers Association (WASPA) Games 2026, bringing together over 3,500 participants from more than 40 water service providers and sector agencies from across the country.

I was this morning honored to preside over the closing ceremony at the Kericho TTC Grounds, marking the successful conclusion of a memorable week of sports, networking, teamwork and camaraderie.

Beyond sports, the WASPA Games have provided a significant boost to our hospitality industry and local economy, while showcasing Kericho’s capacity to safely and successfully host major national events.

We are grateful to WASPA for choosing Kericho as the host and for giving us the opportunity to welcome visitors from across the country.

Disaster preparedness and emergency response in Kenya has today taken a significant step forward with the launch of the National Ambulance Dispatch Centre.

This afternoon, I joined H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto during the official launch of the National Ambulance Dispatch Centre at the Social Health Authority (SHA) Headquarters in Nairobi.

Operating under the SHA 922 Lifeline, the National Ambulance Dispatch Centre will serve as the country's central command hub for coordinating emergency medical services across all 47 counties .The county government of Kericho has been onboarded to the system with 8 ambulances with another 7 on the pipeline.

Through a single national platform, the Centre will provide 24-hour ambulance dispatch, intelligent call management, clinical triage, real-time ambulance tracking, and seamless coordination with health facilities.

Further during my engagement with H.E the President,he assured me that the construction of Londiani South Rift Level 6 Refferall Hospital will kick off soon .Health Cabinet Secretary Hon Aden Duale also assured me that a Modern MRI machine will be delivered to Kericho County Refferall Hospital in the coming weeks.

Kericho County is firmly on the right path to joining the ranks of Kenya's best-performing counties. I am delighted that our county has been recognized as the Most Improved County Overall in the InfoTrak CountyTrak Devolution Awards, rising from position 31 last year to position 10 this year in the County Performance Index.

This remarkable achievement is a clear affirmation that with a peaceful, stable, and conflict-free environment, our development agenda continues to deliver tangible results for the people of Kericho.

This afternoon in Nairobi, I was honored to receive the InfoTrak CountyTrak Devolution Award alongside my fellow top-performing Governors, following an independent County Performance Index survey conducted by InfoTrak Africa.

This recognition belongs to the resilient people of Kericho, our dedicated county staff, the County Assembly, development partners, and every stakeholder who has supported our shared vision of transforming our county.

Village elders are the foundation of our communities, providing invaluable leadership in conflict resolution, promoting social cohesion, safeguarding cultural values, and supporting grassroots administration.

Together with fellow leaders, we joined H.E. the President, Dr. William Samoei Ruto at State House, Nairobi, for an engagement with Village Elders drawn from across the country.

We commend H.E. the President for recognizing and appreciating their selfless service through the introduction of a stipend to support and ease their work.
