Today afternoon, the Sectoral Committee on Public works, Roads and Transport held a consultative meeting with CECM in charge Hon.Charles Birech. The agenda of meeting constituted the following:

1. Roads levy maintenance funds.
2. Status of roads and structures within the county.
3. Reasons why works had been uploaded in the ifmis and no award letters issued
4.Projects done under the Road Levy Maintenance Funds

Earlier today, we were privileged to host a delegation from the Office of the Auditor-General, led by the Auditor General Ms. Nancy Gathungu, who paid a courtesy call to the County Assembly of Kericho.

The delegation is in Kericho following the opening of the Auditor-General’s regional office, which serves Kericho, Kisii and Nyamira counties.

The team was received by the Clerk of the County Assembly, Mr. Martin Epus; Leader of Majority, Hon. Phillip Rono; Chairperson, Public Accounts and Investments Committee, Hon. Vincent Korir; and other Members of the County Assembly.

The engagement featured a consultative meeting focused on strengthening oversight within the County Government, enhancing accountability, and promoting the prudent and responsible use of public resources.

The Assembly committee on Governance, labour and social welfare led by Hon.Matthew Korir, today visited Kabianga Tea Farm. The committee held a meeting with the Board of Directors and the workers Union representatives to ascertain the reasons as to why the workers went on strike .
The Committee urged the Management to listen to the workers' grievances in order to maintain healthy and respectful working relationship amongst them.
