Kiambu County through the leadership of H.E Governor Dr Kimani Wamatangi continues to invest in education by providing bursaries to needy and deserving learners across all wards through the Directorate of Social Services.

Under the county's bursary programme, every successful beneficiary receives not less than KSh 5,000, ensuring meaningful financial support towards their education.Recognizing that some families face even greater hardships, the County Government also provides partial and full scholarships to learners from extremely vulnerable backgrounds. This targeted support ensures that no deserving student is denied access to education because of financial constraints.

The award of these scholarships is guided by a thorough case study and needs assessment to ensure support reaches those facing the greatest financial hardship.

This equitable and transparent approach enables the County Government to provide targeted assistance, ensuring that vulnerable learners can continue their education without interruption.

The bursary programme reflects the County Government's commitment to expanding access to quality education, promoting equity and empowering every learner to achieve their full potential.

Kiambu County Government continues to transform Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) through strategic investments that are giving every child a strong foundation for learning.

The County has undertaken construction of modern Model ECDE Centres across all wards, providing safe, child-friendly learning environments equipped with spacious classrooms, administrative offices, modern sanitation facilities, well-designed play areas and kitchens. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that young learners access quality education in an environment that nurtures their growth and development.

To improve learners' health, nutrition and school attendance, the County has rolled out an exclusive ECDE feeding programme where every learner receives fortified porridge, eggs and fresh milk. The programme is enhancing concentration in class, improving nutrition and encouraging higher enrolment and attendance in public ECDE centres.

The County Government has also eased the financial burden on parents by providing essential learning materials, including exercise books, pencils, rubbers and sharpeners, ensuring that every child has the basic tools needed to learn effectively.

In addition, ECDE learners are now actively participating in co-curricular activities, giving them opportunities to develop their talents, creativity, confidence, teamwork and social skills from an early age. These holistic interventions demonstrate the County Government's commitment to nurturing well-rounded learners and laying a solid foundation for lifelong success.
