I have received with great disappointment the statement made by the Principal Secretary, a leader I have long respected. However, his recent remarks fall far below the standard expected of his office, as they appear aimed at embarrassing the current leadership. I want to state clearly that the people of Bamba will not be misled or swayed by such claims.

I challenge the PS to publicly produce the documents he alleges we signed in support of the said project in Bamba.
For the record, immediately after assuming office, my office received an invitation from Tsavo Trust for a benchmarking visit in Makueni. Together with the then County Commissioner, Mr. Biwot, and residents from Gede Sub-location, we visited Kamunge to observe the work being undertaken by Tsavo Trust. At no point did any money exchange hands.

Following this visit, and after engaging the local community, we stood firmly with the people of Gede in rejecting the implementation of the project. This collective position led to resistance that ultimately resulted in the withdrawal and subsequent cancellation of the project in the area.

It is therefore deeply concerning to see the PS addressing mourners and casting aspersions using such a sensitive platform to mislead the people of Bamba for political and popularity gains.

As a Principal Secretary, he has full access to all relevant government offices, including the Head of State and those responsible for wildlife matters.
Instead of engaging in propaganda, he should take decisive action by facilitating the cancellation of any alleged agreements attributed to myself and the MP, if indeed they exist. This would go a long way in addressing the ongoing human-wildlife conflict that continues to cause injuries and destruction of crops among our people if he indeed genuinely care fir the people.
Mr PS, Propaganda will not solve this crisis. Our people are suffering daily.

As leaders, we have consistently sought solutions by engaging all relevant authorities, including the Directorate of Kenya Wildlife Service, the Cabinet Secretary in charge, and even the Office of the President. We have also cooperated fully with KWS officers on the ground. The MP has on several occasions raised this matter in Parliament.

If we were indeed complicit, why would we be at the forefront of seeking solutions?
This is not a time for blame games. It is a time for unity, honesty, and decisive action.

As leaders, our responsibility is to work together to find lasting solutions for the people we serve.

May God God save us from the Hypocricy displayed.

God bless Bamba

After the successful site handing over of the famous Bamba Market, and the site handing over of Mkuhamure ECD, today I have once again demonstrated visionary leadership — this time taking a bold step toward addressing the persistent water shortage in Bamba.

The journey to solve the long-standing historical water shortage in Bamba officially began today.

Together with a dedicated team from Kitanda Organisation, led by Mr. Rudy Davik, Mr. Yvan, and Steve Omandi, we visited the Baricho Water Station to gather crucial technical information and explore practical mitigation measures to curb the recurrent water shortage that has affected our people for years.

This engagement signals more than just a visit — it marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at delivering sustainable and permanent solutions. The people of Bamba deserve reliable and sufficient water supply, and leadership is about turning long-standing challenges into actionable plans.

Through partnership, commitment, and focused implementation, this dream will surely become a reality.

Today, I had the pleasure of accompanying a delegation from the Koins Kenya Foundation, led by Madam Leah Muthoni, alongside representatives from Riziki Charity, led by Mr. Omondi.
During the visit, we officially opened three newly constructed classrooms at Goshi Primary School. We later proceeded to Migunjini Primary School for a fact-finding visit as part of a consideration process by the donor.

The provision of this infrastructure goes beyond buildings; it creates a warm and loving learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.

As the people of Bamba, we are deeply grateful for this support. Personally, I remain fully committed to working tirelessly within my capacity to ensure that Bamba continues to receive adequate government and donor funding across all aspects of development.

Empowerment is one of the key pillars for my people, that is why I deeply value and support the existence of self-help groups. Yesterday, I had the honor of joining the distinguished Tuinuane Self Help Group from Shaka, Mwakwala Sub-Location, during their annual savings and dividends sharing party. I reaffirmed my commitment to support all self-help groups in the ward, as they remain one of the most effective and sustainable ways of eradicating poverty and uplifting our communities.

Today I presided over an empowerment program where more than 20 community groups received tents and chairs as part of my ongoing initiative to support local development.

This marks Phase 2 of the empowerment program, following the successful distribution of car washing and tailoring machines in the earlier phase.

This reaffirmed my commitment to community empowerment, Phase 3 of the program is already in the pipeline, and more groups will soon benefit from similar support.

In total, over 300 group members were empowered during today’s event.

*PRESS STATEMENT BY HON. SAIDI MOHAMMED, BAMBA WARD*

Demonstrations Held Today in Bamba Town

I wish to strongly condemn the acts of violence and intimidation that were directed at my office by a few unruly individuals during today’s demonstrations in Bamba Town.

While I commend those who came out to demonstrate peacefully and without any ill intentions, I want to remind everyone that the right to demonstrate and picket is protected by our Constitution. However, we must all reject violence, lawlessness, and extremism in any form.

It is unfortunate that some known politicians chose to orchestrate and sponsor violence through a few paid individuals, who went further to damage a main water pipeline near Godoma Secondary School. Ironically, even as we begin to see the positive outcome of your genuine demonstrations — because as I speak, water has been pumped at Mulungu wa Mawe — the flow will again be interrupted due to the cutting of that same pipeline. This is a great setback to the very cause that many of you demonstrated for in good faith.

I want to advise those seeking elective seats that votes are earned through a solid development record, persuasion, integrity, and good governance. Resorting to violence, propaganda, and activism will never win you the trust or confidence of the people. Leadership is about building, not destroying.

The unfortunate violence also led to one of my office staff being injured, yet despite the provocation, my team remained calm and did not retaliate. They demonstrated true discipline and professionalism by upholding the code of conduct expected of public servants, and I sincerely commend them for their courage and restraint.

To the genuine demonstrators, I want to reaffirm that your voices have been heard, and actions shall be taken by all responsible stakeholders, including myself as your elected representative. I am fully committed to working with all relevant authorities to ensure that your concerns are addressed in a fair and transparent manner.

Referring to the press release by the CECM for Water yesterday, as well as the Governor’s statement and that from the Coast Water Works Development Agency, it has become clear that the core of the water issue lies with Kimawasco. As your elected representative, I have been raising these concerns in the County Assembly and will continue to do so. This remains the most legitimate and effective platform for me to express dissatisfaction and push for a lasting solution.

Lastly, as I continue to address the water issue that has affected many, I humbly ask that we also remember other residents of Bamba Ward who may have different but equally important needs. My duty is to serve all constituents fairly and without discrimination.

Following guidance from the security sector, I wish to inform the public that my office has been officially reopened and normal operations have resumed.

Thank you,
God bless you all,
God bless Bamba.
