Our Municipal Manager, Mr. Mwango Kalu, hosted a delegation from Boniswa Group of South Africa, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Lynette Magasa and Chief Technical Officer Lenkoe Makotokoto to explore potential partnership insmart streetlighting infrastructure in the Municipality.

‎The proposed smart streetlighting system integrates CCTV surveillance cameras and internet connectivity antennas, providing enhanced public safety, improved digital access hence improve the quality of life for residents across the municipality.

‎As a municipality, we remain committed to fostering collaborations and strategic partnerships that promote sustainable, technology-driven urban development.

ENHANCING EMPLOYEE WELLBEING, ENGAGEMENT AND PERFORMANCE THROUGH WORKPLACE FEEDBACK.

We are currently collecting employee feedback through the Work Environment Survey for municipal staff.

The survey focuses on key areas including Occupational Safety and Health, General Working Conditions, Leadership and Management, Employee Relations, Human Resource Management and Performance Management.

The survey is designed to identify workplace challenges and concerns so they can be addressed proactively, leading to better staff retention, increased productivity, stronger employee engagement and a healthier work environment.

Yesterday at approximately 1610 hrs, the Municipality of Kilifi Fire Department received a report of a fire outbreak at Jumbo Steel Limited in Rabai.
‎
‎The Kilifi Fire Crew promptly responded to the scene, with additional support from the Mariakani Fire Crew. Through coordinated efforts, the fire was successfully contained and prevented from spreading further. No casualties or injuries were reported during the incident.
‎
‎The Municipality of Kilifi remains committed to providing firefighting services and responding promptly to emergencies in order to safeguard lives and property.

In our continued commitment to building a greener and cleaner Municipality, we conducted a successful tree-planting exercise at Mazingira Park and along various roads within the Municipality.
‎
‎The initiative, which brought together various stakeholders and the community is geared towards promoting environmental sustainability and restoring our climate through increased tree cover and community participation in conservation efforts.
‎
‎We also carried out a clean-up exercise in cemeteries within Sokoni Ward, by clearing overgrown bushes that had made the surroundings unpleasant.
‎
‎Also in attendance were the area MCA, Hon. Ray Katana Dogo, Municipality Manager, Mr. Mwango Kalu, Deputy Manager, Mr. Benjamin Chivatsi, Sokoni Ward Administrator, Mr. Samson Rimba and various stakeholder representatives.
