When Yours Truly met Dr. Fred Matiang'i on a one on one meeting, the question was, "Daktari, are we completing this journey... Kuna watu wanasema unatafuta running mate ama CS..."

Daktari answered, " My friend, I have been a CS of ICT, Education and Interior. The ministries I served in had a combined budget of more than 2 Trillion shillings. Under the administration of Uhuru Kenyatta, he signed an executive order putting me virtually in charge of all ministers and government delivery and supervision. I was technically a Prime Minister. I moved on to the World Bank, which was giving me a bigger salary than that of a CS, good life, a good office in Washington near the White House. I would have stayed there... I am here offering myself to serve Kenyans as president and if God Is Gracious Enough, I will change this country, for the current generation, our children and the next generation. I am offering myself for the seat of president. Let's move together..."

Onwards to today, he has told us: We must change this country. The things happening are shocking. How can a president be giving billions in church harambees, political crowds, yet our children's capitation for schools have been slashed? A family in Kenya has an average of between 2-3 children in school. If a family digs into their pockets to pay Ksh. 10,000 for each, you can clearly see that many will not study. Are we going the Singapore way or the Afgh@nistan/Somæli way? Those countries went down because of such policies and gradually, there were no countries left..."
