The government has intensified Ebola surveillance across border counties as the latest strain of the virus has been found in neighbouring Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Principal Secretary for Civil Registration and Immigration Services, Dr. Belio Kipsang, has assured Kenyans that the country remains vigilant and prepared to contain any possible outbreak.

Consumers are expected to continue paying the recently adjusted electricity tariffs set by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority, EPRA. Kenya Power Managing Director Eng. Joseph Siror said the pricing structure is dependent on fuel prices, the exchange rates and weather conditions affecting hydro-power generation.

An angry crowd set ablaze a section of a hospital at the epicentre of the Ebola outbreak in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo after family and friends of a young man thought to have died from the virus were prevented from taking his body away for burial. The crowd set fire to tents that were being used as isolation wards at Rwampara General Hospital.

The 5th edition of the Nairobi City Marathon, set for the 7th of next month, has attracted over 17,000 runners. The marathon will feature the 42km full marathon, 21km half marathon, 10km run, and 5km fun run.
