The County Government of Machakos, through the Department of Tourism and Culture, in partnership with the State Department of Tourism successfully conducted the second phase of the Tourism Products and Experiences Mapping exercise at the Machakos International Convention Center.
The inception meeting was led by the Deputy Director from the State Department for Tourism, Mr. Joseph Maina, together with Mr. Stephen Mulei, the Chief Officer for the Department of Tourism and Culture alongside Ms. Mumbua Muoki the Deputy Director Tourism.
This mapping initiative is designed to update and strengthen the countyβs database of tourism products, facilities, and experiences, contributing to the development of a comprehensive national tourism inventory.
The session also brought together key stakeholders, providing a platform to review mapping guidelines and align on strategies aimed at enhancing and expanding the tourism sector within Machakos County.
Directors from the Department of Tourism, County Government of Machakos, and other industry stakeholders were also in attendance.
Under the leadership of H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti, the County Government remains committed to advancing tourism as a key pillar in positioning Machakos as a prime destination for investment and travel.
